Weak high pressure builds into our area as a low pressure is off the New England coast. We should have mostly sunny skies today with milder temperatures.

Warmer on Tuesday but a cold front approaching our area may touch off some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, The chances of rain are only around 40%.

Looks like the dry pattern will continue Wednesday through the weekend. Temperatures will be slightly below normal Wednesday through Friday but become warmer on the weekend.

An upper level low just off the New England coast will give us a chance of mainly afternoon or evening showers Tuesday through Thursday, but the chances are 50% or less.

Drier weather with a slow increase in temperatures Friday into Saturday.

A back door cold front moved to our south overnight and today will be much cooler after the record heat yesterday. High temperatures will be about 20 degrees lower than yesterday topping off in the low 70s. Skies will be mostly cloudy but we should remain dry.

High pressure north of Maine will give us a sunny day on Sunday with continued cool tempeatures.

Next week should should be seasonably cool but remain mostly dry, but there will be a chance of mainly afternoon or evening showers Tuesday through Thursday as an upper level low pressure will be just off our coast.

Today we will be very warm ahead of a cold front that will move through the area this evening. The morning will start off sunny, but we should see an increase in clouds this afternoon with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

Much cooler on Saturday along with a continued chance of showers, it will become breezy with an onshore flow.

We should be mainly dry Saturday night through the day on Monday along with continued cool temperatures.

At this point, next week will have temperatures mainly below normal. A cold front passing through may touch off some showers Monday night into Tuesday. An upper level low will still give us a chance of showers on Wednesday.

CLIFTON’S WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MAY 2023.

Temperatures for the month were near normal, the highest temperature was 89 on the 12th, the lowest temperature was 41 which was recorded on the 18th. Precipitation was well below normal with 1.43″ accumulating, which was the 4th driest May since my records began. Also May had the least amount of hours overcast skies since my records began.

CLIFTON’S WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE SPRING MONTHS OF 2023.

This spring period was warmer than normal. Overall precipitation averaged above normal with 13.62″ recorded, the majority of the rainfall fell on the last couple of days in April.

High pressure moving off the coast will give us a warm day today with light winds. Skies will be sunny, but there will still be some haze around from the Nova Scotia wildfires.

Hot on Friday as the high pressure moves further offshore, highs will be in the low 90s with mostly sunny skies. A backdoor cold front will give us a chance of showers after 2 p.m.

Much cooler weather over the weekend with showers likely on Saturday and still a chance of showers over the weekend.

Cool weather through the middle of next week and there will be a low chance of showers each day as an upper level low will be affecting our weather.
