Mostly cloudy today with a chance of a lingering shower! Warmer on Sunday with plenty of sunshine! Mainly dry with above normal temperatures next week!

Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from 56 in Clifton down to 52 at High Point and Vernon. Winds are light from the north-northeast. The air quality is good with an index of 23.

Yesterday we had the 2.35″ of rain but New York City had 5-9 inches which caused massive flooding.

The storm system with some of the remains of ex-tropical storm Ophelia has moved further offshore but we will still have mostly cloudy to cloudy skies much of the day with a chance of a lingering shower mainly this morning. We should have clearing by this evening.

High pressure will then be in control of our weather on Sunday giving us plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather next week with dry conditions along with above normal temperatures.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – SEP 30 – Cloudy with a chance of light rain mainly this morning, highs in the upper 60s.

TONIGHT – Clearing, lows in the mid 50s.

SUNDAY – OCT 1 – Sunny and warmer, highs in the upper 70s.

MONDAY – OCT 2 – Sunny, highs in the upper 70s.

TUESDAY – OCT 3 – Sunny, highs near 80.

WEDNESDAY – OCT 4 – Sunny, highs in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – OCT 5 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 70s.

FRIDAY – OCT 6 – Mostly cloudy, highs in the mid 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect until 8 p.m. Monday night for north-northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected for Tuesday and Wednesday.
