High pressure over our area will give us another nice day with seasonably mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Winds will be lighter than yesterday.

The high pressure will slowly move off the coast and we should remain dry although there will be a increase in clouds on Friday. Temperatures will be near seasonable on Thursday and be a little cooler on Friday as we will have more clouds and an onshore wind.

A low pressure developing off the southeast coast will approach our area on the weekend with rain likely along with rather strong winds. Rain may be heavy at times. Temperatures will be quite cool on Saturday and a little milder on Sunday.

We should dry out early next week with near seasonable temperatures.

The storm system that gave us the rain yesterday is moving to the Canadian Maritimes as high pressure builds from the Midwest which will give us a mostly sunny day with near seasonable temperatures and low humidity.

The nice weather will continue Wednesday through Friday as the high continues to dominate.

Unsettled weather for the weekend into early next week as a low pressure off the southeast coast may develop some tropical characteristics as it slowly moves up the coast. So depending on the track we could have some showers from Saturday into early next week.

NOTE: 24 years ago today Hurricane Floyd caused massive flooding as more than 11 inches of rain fell in our area.

High pressure to our west and Hurricane Lee about 300 miles to our east will give us another breezy day today on north winds. Some of the clouds associated with Lee may once again filter our sunshine, high temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday.

During the day on Sunday it should be dry but a weak low pressure area will likely give us showers late Sunday night into Monday.

High pressure will then build into our area on Tuesday and should dominate our weather the rest of next week with plenty of sunshine each day with near normal temperatures.

High pressure near Buffalo, and Hurricane Lee about 300 miles to our east, will combine to give us a northerly flow of cool air today; some high clouds from Lee may move into our area.

The weekend continues to look quite pleasant with seasonably mild temperatures and low humidity. We may continue to see some high clouds from Lee Saturday morning, but skies should become mostly sunny in the afternoon.

A weak area of low pressure along with a cold front may touch off some showers late Sunday night into early Monday afternoon.

A cold front has moved to our east and high pressure over the Great Lakes will cause sunny skies today with seasonably mild temperatures and much less humidity. Finally we will have comfortable September weather after almost two weeks of heat and or humidity.

Dry and comfortable weather is expected to continue Friday through the weekend but we may see an increase in high clouds from Hurricane Lee that will move well to our east. Winds may be a little gusty Friday and Saturday especially over the coastal areas.

Mainly dry weather with near seasonable temperatures through the middle part of next week, the only slight chance of showers will be on Monday as a weak front passes through our area.

A frontal system will be in our area today and move off the coast by this evening. Showers and some thunderstorms are expected mainly this morning although there may be some scattered showers this afternoon into early this evening. Temperatures will be cooler than yesterday but the humidity will remain high.

After almost two weeks of either high heat or humidity we finally can enjoy nice September weather as high pressure builds in from the Great Lakes. Thursday will be seasonably mild but the humidity will fall with dew points in the comfortable 40s and low 50s.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather Friday through the weekend, however winds will increase as Hurricane Lee moves up the coast well to our east. Also the storm will cause high surf along with dangerous rip currents through the weekend. Skies will be mostly fair but we may have some high clouds from Lee mainly on Saturday.

Comfortable temperatures and humidity should continue into early next week.

Yesterday in Clifton we only picked up .11″ while some nearby areas had flooding rains.

The front that gave us the showers has moved offshore and a weak area of high pressure will build into the area today providing us with mostly sunny skies, warm temperatures and still high humidity.

Another front will move into the area on Wednesday with showers and possibly some thunderstorms mainly before 8 p.m. Some of the storms may cause rain heavy at times. High temperatures will be lower but the humidity will remain high.

Dry with much less humidity and seasonable temperatures Thursday through the weekend. It may be a little windy Friday and Saturday as Hurricane Lee moves up the coast well offshore. Also the storm will likely cause high surf along with dangerous rip currents.

The front that gave us the rain yesterday will still be in our area today with showers again becoming likely by this afternoon and continue off and on through this evening. The humidity will continue to be high.

A weak ridge of high pressure will give us a dry day on Tuesday but another frontal system will give us a chance of more showers developing late at night.

The frontal system will likely move slowly through our area on Wednesday with more showers and possibly some thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Finally dry weather with much less humidity and seasonably mild temperatures Thursday through the weekend, although shore areas will have to deal with heavy surf and dangerous rip currents from Hurricane Lee.
