Cloudy and much cooler today with periods of rain! Continued cloudy on Monday and a little milder with showers likely! Much cooler on Halloween with a chance of rain late at night into Wednesday! Dry and chilly Thursday and Friday!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are cloudy early on this Sunday morning and there are some light showers in parts of the area. Temperatures are still mild with readings ranging from 55 in Clifton down to 46 at High Point. Winds are from the north around 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 20.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR OCTOBER 29TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 59 AVERAGE LOW: 40

RECORD HIGH: 72 – 1984 RECORD LOW: 27 – 1985

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 84 (New Record and warmest so late in the season) LOW: 61 PRECIPITATION: NONE

NOTE: Today is the 11th anniversary of Hurricane Sandy and the 12th anniversary of the October snowstorm that dumped around 6 inches of snow that caused many power outages due to the snow falling on trees that still had most of their leaves.

After the record breaking warmth of the last few days, today will be much cooler as a front has moved to the south and a northerly flow of cooler air will be with us, temperatures will be steady or fall throughout the day. Also periods of mostly light rain will develop and continue through this evening.

Monday will still be cloudy with light rain likely into the afternoon as the front will be in our area.

High pressure will give us dry conditions during the day on Halloween but another disturbance may cause some rain late at night into Wednesday. Temperatures will be well below normal and some inland areas may have some snow mixed in Wednesday morning.

Dry conditions Thursday and Friday with widespread frost and or freezing tempertures both mornings.

Saturday at this time looks dry with moderating temperatures.
