Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures are milder than this time yesterday with readings ranging from 35 in Clifton down to 21 at Hackettstown and Pequest. Winds are calm or light southwesterly. The air quality is moderate with an index of 70.

High pressure moving off the coast will give us a southwesterly flow of milder air today with plenty of sunshine, high temperatures should rise to the mid 50s.

Saturday may be a little cooler with an onshore wind and an increase in clouds but most highs will still be in the low 50s.

A coastal storm will affect our area on Sunday with heavy rain and strong winds. Most of the heavy rain will be Sunday night into Monday morning. Rainfall amounts will average 2-3 inches with some higher amounts possible. Highs both Sunday and Monday will be in 50s.

Cooler on Tuesday and a weak low off the coast may touch off some rain or snow chances.

Mainly dry and seasonable cold Wednesday and Thursday as high pressure builds back into our area.
