Mostly sunny and continued mild today! Powerful storm to give us heavy rain and wind mainly from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning along with quite mild temperatures! Much cooler and breezy on Tuesday! Mainly dry with near seasonable temperatures Wednesday through Friday!

With clear skies and calm winds, there is a large spread in temperatures early on this Saturday morning with readings ranging from 43 in Clifton down to a chilly 23 at Pequest. The air quality is moderate with an index of 61.

High pressure moving off the coast will give us a light onshore flow of air, it will be slightly cooler than yesterday but still well above normal with highs mainly in the low 50s. Skies will be mostly sunny.

The powerful storm that we have been tracking the last few days will affect our area mainly from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. Rainfall amounts will average 2-3 inches with some higher amounts possible. Winds will be gusting to over 40 mph at times.

The storm will move offshore Monday night with showers ending.

Much cooler on Tuesday as high pressure builds into the area and it will continue to be breezy.

Mainly dry weather Wednesday through Friday with temperatures near seasonable levels.

TONIGHT – Increasing cloudiness, lows near 40.

SUNDAY – DEC 17 – Cloudy with rain developing mainly after 10 a.m. highs in the mid 50s. Heavy rain with a possible thunderstorm and windy at night with gusts to 43 mph.

MONDAY – DEC 18 – Rain heavy at times with a possible thunderstorm in the morning, showers possible in the afternoon and evening. Highs near 60 in the morning dropping to 50 by sunset.

TUESDAY – DEC 19 – Partly sunny, breezy and cooler, highs in the low 40s.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 20 – Sunny, highs in the mid 40s.

THURSDAY – DEC 21 – Sunny, highs in the upper 40s.

FRIDAY – DEC 22 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 40s.

OUTLOOK: A gale warning has been posted effective between 6 p.m. Sunday evening through 6 p.m., Monday evening; advisories likely on Tuesday; advisories still possible for Wednesday.
