Mostly sunny, breezy and chilly today! Sunny and continued chilly on Friday but with less wind! Mainly dry with milder temperatures through Christmas Day! Good chance of rain Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures are a little milder than this time yesterday with readings ranging from 33 in Clifton down to 27 at High Point and Pequest. Winds are from the northwest averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is moderate with an index of 54.

A weak cold front will cross the area with just a little clouds around noon followed by a brisk northerly flow of chilly air. Winter begins at 10:27 p.m. tonight.

Friday will be on the cold side with high temperatures staying in the 30s despite sunshine and light winds.

Temperatures moderate for the holiday weekend and we should stay dry but there will be a slight chance of a rain or snow shower Saturday night.

The next chance of significant rain will be Tuesday night into Wednesday as low pressure approaches our area.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday evening for northeast winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected Friday through Christmas Day.
