Good morning everyone!

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR APRIL 6TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 57 AVERAGE LOW: 39

RECORD HIGH: 81 – 2023 RECORD LOW: 18 – 1982 (12″ of snow, only April blizzard on record))

Note: A 4.8 magnitude earthquake centered near Whitehouse Station yesterday was the strongest to be centered in New Jersey since the 1700s. The quake was felt here with rattling dishes. Also it was felt from New Brunswick Canada down to Washington DC. Sorry I didn’t add the chance of quakes in my forecast yesterday.

Today will be pretty similar to yesterday with partly sunny skies along with cool temperatures and a brisk wind at times. There is a slight chance of a shower but most areas will remain dry. There is also a chance of some more aftershocks from yesterday’s earthquake.

Sunday will be a couple of degrees higher and a little less wind and more sunshine than today.

The weather for the solar eclipse Monday afternoon continues to look good with mostly sunny skies along with milder temperatures, however during the peak of the eclipse temperatures may fall about 5-10 degrees.

Tuesday looks to be a nice warm spring day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 70s.

A backdoor cold front will pass through the area Tuesday night and Wednesday will be much cooler with an onshore flow along with a chance of showers.

Milder Thursday and Friday but widespread showers are likely that may be heavy at times as a frontal system moves into our area from the west.
