Mostly sunny and pleasantly warm today! Cooler on Wednesday with a chance of showers! Showers expected Thursday and Friday! Mainly dry with near seasonable temperatures on the weekend!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are mild with readings ranging from 51 in Clifton down to 35 at Walpack. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is good with an index of 42.

Yesterday we had rather nice viewing of the partial (90%) solar eclipse for the first half of the event but lower clouds moved in restricting the view for the second half. The temperatures did drop around 3 degrees and it did become somewhat darker during the middle of the eclipse.

Today will be a very nice early spring day with plenty of sunshine and quite mild tempertures with highs in the mid 70s. A back door cold front will come through late in the afternoon.

An easterly flow behind the cold front will cause cooler temperatures on Wednesday along with mainly cloudy skies and there will be a chance of light showers.

Showers are expected Thursday into Friday as a strong frontal system moves through the area. The heaviest rain should be Thursday night when 1 to 1 1/2″ of rainfall is likely with a chance of some thunderstorms, it also will become breezy.

At this point the weekend looks dry, Saturday will be cool and breezy but it should be milder with less wind on Sunday.
