Skies are partly to mostly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures are quite mild with readings ranging from 72 in Clifton down to 66 at High Point. The humidity is also high with dew points near 70. The wind is calm or light south-southwesterly. The air quality is moderate with an index of 59.

Today will be a hot and humid day ahead of a cold front that will cross the area this evening. Showers are likely with possibly some strong to severe thunderstorms later this afternoon into this evening.

Friday will not be as warm and much less humid as high pressure builds into the area.

The weekend weather looks to be quite warm with an increase in humidity as the high pressure moves just off the coast.

Very hot and humid weather, but we should stay mainly dry Monday through Wednesday with high temperatures well up into the 90s, and some temperatures in the area may top off to 100 degrees.

Cooler weather likely towards the end of next week.
