Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there are some scattered light showers falling over parts of the area. Temperatures range from 50 in Clifton down to 40 at High Point. Winds are calm or light southwesterly. The air quality is good with an index of 46.

A weak cold front will cause some early scattered showers this morning then it should stay mostly cloudy and cool with light winds. A coastal storm will remain well offshore.
Sunday will be cool but with more sunshine but it will be breezy between the coastal low offshore and high pressure building from the west.
The high pressure will then move offshore early next week with a warming trend. Monday and Tuesday will feature mostly sunny skies both days with highs mainly in the low 70s on Monday then possible up to the low 80s on Tuesday.
A strong cold front will slowly move through the region Wednesday into Thursday. There will be a chance of showers during the day on Wednesday with heavier showers expected Wednesday night into Thursday. With the clouds and rain temperatures will be cooler.

THURSDAY – MAY 7 – Cloudy with showers possibly heavy at times, highs in the upper 60s.

The average temperature was 54.0 degrees which is 2.7 degrees higher than the 1974-2026 average. The highest temperature was 91 degrees set on the 16th, the lowest temperatures was 26 degrees recorded on the 8th. Precipitation was below normal with 2.77″ recorded. There was no snow during this April.
