Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and we did have some light showers pass through around 3 a.m.. Temperatures are milder than the last few mornings with readings ranging from 60 in Clifton down to 51 at Pequest. Winds are mainly calm.

Weak high pressure moving off the coast will give us a partly sunny and warm day with somewhat more humidity.

A frontal system will give us much needed rain with the bulk of the precipitation falling Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning. Rainfall amounts will be between 1/2 and 1 inch.

Unsettled weather much of the rest of this week and some weak frontal systems will likely give us some showers Wednesday afternoon and evening and then a chance of showers Thursday night as another weak frontal system moves through the area. Temperatures through this period will average near normal.

High pressure building into our area will give us mostly sunny skies along with slightly warmer temperatures today with highs near 80. Most if not all of the haze and smoke has moved away and we should continue to have good air quality today.

Yesterday we had the worst air quality in decades in our area from smoke from the Quebec wildfires especially in the early afternoon with the sky turning a strange brownish orange color.

Today we should have less haze and smoke but rather bad air quality should remain. Also there is a chance of an afternoon or evening shower.

Less haze and smoke on Friday with showers likely.

The weekend looks to be mainly dry with warmer temperatures as the upper level low that has been just off the Maine coast finally moves away and high pressure builds into the area.

Warm and rather humid conditions Monday through Wednesday with chance of showers each day as a frontal system moves through our area.

Today will be cooler as low pressure continues off the Maine coast and high pressure builds from the west. Skies again will be hazy and smoky from the Canadian wildfires, there may be a break in the smoke after daybreak but more haze and smoke is expected later this afternoon and evening.

The upper level low off the Maine coast will continue to give us cool temperatures tomorrow and again on Friday, there will be a low chance of an afternoon or evening shower on Thursday with a better chance Friday afternoon and evening.

The weekend weather at this point looks mainly dry with seasonably warm temperatures.

A slow moving frontal system will give us the best chance of significant rainfall Monday into Tuesday.
