Skies are partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and there is some patchy fog in some areas. Temperatures are mild with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 69 in Clifton down to 65 at Walpack. The humidity is high and the winds are mainly calm.

Today will be another hot and humid day today with temperatures well up into the 90s and with dew points near 70 will bring the heat indexes to above 100 degrees. A heat advisory continues in effect. Some strong storms are possible again late this afternoon into this evening but they should not be as widespread as yesterday.

Thursday will be not as hot but it will stay humid as a front approaches our area which will likely give us showers and thunderstorms, some heavy rain is possible.

The front will continue to be in our area on Friday and moisture from Tropical Storm Elsa should give us heavy rain on Friday. Rainfall amounts Thursday and Friday will average between 1-3 inches with some higher amounts possible. The winds from Elsa will not be strong in our area but may gust to 40 mph or more along the coast.

Unsettled weather this weekend into early next week as a trough of low pressure will continue to be in our area so there will be a chance of mainly afternoon or evening showers each day. Temperatures will be seasonably warm but become hot again by Wednesday.

The holiday weekend is over and now the weather will become very hot again today with highs well up into the 90s, the humidity will be moderate with dew points in the 60s. There is a chance of strong thunderstorms from around 4 to 8 p.m., these storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and heavy rain.

Wednesday will be quite hot again and becoming somewhat more humid with dew points near 70. There will again be a chance of mainly late afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.

A frontal system along with possible remains of Tropical Storm Elsa will likely cause rain Thursday into Friday. Temperatures will be lower but the humidity will remain high.

At this point the weekend looks to be seasonably warm but there a chance of showers on Sunday.

High pressure will control our weather today with seasonably warm temperatures and moderate humidity. There is a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm but most areas will remain dry.

Very hot with an increase in humidity Tuesday and Wednesday as Bermuda high pressure dominates, highs will be well up into the 90s with heat indexes rising to over 100. There is a better chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm both days.

Not as hot Thursday and Friday but staying humid as a front approaches from the west along with possible moisture from Tropical Storm Elsa. Showers and thunderstorms are likely with some heavy rain possible.

The trough that gave us the unseasonably cool day yesterday is moving offshore and we should see some more sunshine today with milder temperatures. There is a low chance of an afternoon or evening shower but most areas will remain dry and it should be a nice day for most outdoor activities.

Mostly sunny and warmer on Monday as a warm front passes through the area.

Very hot and increasingly humid Tuesday and Wednesday with highs well up into the 90s. There will be a chance of late day showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Winds are a little brisk out of the northeast.

A weak trough will give us a cloudy day today with some showers. It will be unseasonably cool with highs only in the 60s. Not a good start for the holiday weekend but better than the Memorial Day holiday weekend when highs were only in the 40s.

The trough will move offshore on Sunday and we should see more sunshine and milder temperatures but there will still be a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers or thunderstorms.

Monday will have the best weather of the holiday weekend with plenty of sunshine and seasonably mild temperatures.

The Bermuda high pressure will then dominate our weather for Tuesday and Wednesday giving our area a southwest flow of hot and humid air. Tuesday should be dry but there will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms on Wednesday.

The end of the week will be cooler and we have to watch for some moisture from a cold front approaching from the west along with some effects from the remnants of Hurricane Elsa.
