Temperatures are very mild early on this Tuesday morning with temperatures ranging from the low 50s in the Clifton area to the mid 40s inland, winds are gusty out of the southwest.  Skies are cloudy and there are some light scattered showers in the area.

A warm front moved past our area late last night and temperatures rose from the 40s into the 50s.  A cold front will cross the area around noon, preceded by some showers this morning with clearing by noon, winds will be gusty out of the west, high temperatures will be around noon reaching the upper 50s but fall into the 40s by sunset.

Wednesday will be a mostly cloudy and breezy day, it will be cooler but temperatures will be slightly above normal.

The next disturbance will give our area precipitation on Thursday, this low pressure will rapidly intensify just off the coast, we should see a mixture of snow changing to rain along the coast with more snow to our north.  At this time it does not appear that there will be any accumulation in the Clifton area but inland areas may pick up a couple of inches.

Friday will be windy and cold with some snow showers possible.

A couple of disturbances, the first one will give us a chance of rain or snow after midnight on New Year’s Eve ending in the morning on New Year’s Day and the second disturbance will be moving into our area on Monday.

Skies have become mostly cloudy over the area on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the upper 20s here in Clifton to around 20 further inland, winds are light.

A warm front will be approaching the area today, some light rain or drizzle will likely develop ahead of the front with some freezing rain or drizzle possible well inland this morning.  Mainly light rain will continue tonight along with rising temperatures with readings by daybreak tomorrow possibly reaching the 50s.

A cold front will cross the area around noon tomorrow, temperatures ahead of the front will be quite mild with highs in the upper 50s which will gradually fall by late in the day.

Wednesday looks to be a dry day with temperatures slightly above normal.

Another cold front will give us a chance of rain on Thursday which again may start as freezing precipitation inland.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Christmas morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area to the upper 20s further inland, winds are light.

High pressure will be in control of our weather today giving us plenty of sunshine with mild temperature reaching the upper 40s, although this is above normal it will not be as mild as the last two Christmas Days when highs were in the 60s.

A low pressure and cold front will be approaching our area on Monday likely giving us rain that may begin as a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain well inland before changing to plain rain which will end on Tuesday morning.  Tuesday will be quite mild with highs in the 50s.

High pressure will give us a dry day on Wednesday with cooler temperatures.

Another low pressure will give us a chance of mainly rain on Thursday followed by colder and dry weather for Friday and New Year’s Eve.

Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and precipitation is starting to move  into the area from the west, temperatures range from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to around freezing further inland, winds are light.

A cold front will cross the area this afternoon preceded by mainly rain, however some precipitation may start off as freezing rain over the higher elevations of Northwest New Jersey and the Hudson Valley but then quickly change to plain rain.  Temperatures will be seasonably mild reaching the 40s by this afternoon, even though it is mild it is not as warm as we had last year when the mercury rose to an incredible 71 degrees on Christmas Eve.  I do also remember that 50 years ago today we had  around 10 inches of snow on this date, Public Service had to come out in heavy snow because our heat went out.

Tonight and Christmas Day will be very pleasant with dry conditions and temperatures seasonably mild.

Looking ahead to next week we will have a few fronts that may cause precipitation Monday night into Tuesday morning  and again late Thursday mostly falling as rain, temperatures during this period should average above normal with colder weather likely towards next weekend.

Christmas Eve night into Christmas Day will be dry with milder than normal temperatures.

Another weak cold front may cause some rain on Monday night followed by high pressure for Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will continue to be above normal.
