With clear skies and light winds temperatures have fallen to around 30 degrees in the Clifton area with the 20s further inland.  Again beware of black ice early this morning on untreated roads and especially on sidewalks and steps.

Today sunshine will prevail and temperatures will rise into the 50s..

Sunday we will have increasing cloudiness but it still will be mild, however a cold front will be crossing the area in the evening accompanied by some rain showers that may change to snow before ending, little or no accumulation is expected.

Below normal temperatures will return next week and the next chance of any significant snow will be around Wednesday.  At the present time the computer models are not in agreement, the European model would give the area a few inches of snow while the American model (GFS) has the storm going out to sea.  Even colder weather will follow the potential storm for Thursday and Friday.

Dense fog is occurring this morning with temperatures that are mainly just above freezing.

A warm front will move north of us this morning followed quickly by a cold front.  Showers will develop ahead of the cold front with even a chance of a thunderstorm that may cause some brief gusty winds.  Skies will clear by this evening. Temperatures will be mild.

Saturday will be a rather nice late February day with highs near 50 degrees with plenty of sunshine..

Sunday will continue to be mild but a cold front with a weak disturbance along it that will give us a chance of rain late in the afternoon that could change to some light snow before ending.

Return of cold winter weather next week with the best chance of snow will be around Wednesday.

The European model that showed a two foot blizzard next weekend now shows this system moving out to sea and not affecting our area. What made the situation change, was it due the removal of the winter shower curtain???

With clear skies temperatures range from the low 30s in the Clifton area to the 20s further inland.  Again be on the outlook for some black ice especially when walking early this morning.

Today will be a rather pleasant day with temperatures reaching the upper 40s, we will have mostly sunny skies in the morning but clouds will increase this afternoon.

Tonight rain or drizzle will develop with locally dense fog mainly after midnight, temperatures will remain above freezing.

Friday a warm front followed quickly by a cold front will cause showers, temperatures will reach the low 50s, some of the showers may be heavy with even a chance of a thunderstorm.  Some local flooding is possible due to the rain and the melting snowpack.

Rather nice weekend is shaping up with highs in the 50s on Saturday and the upper 40s on Sunday with mostly fair skies both days.

A return to winter next week as the polar vortex dips down into the central and eastern part of the country.  Below normal temperatures will prevail through next weekend.

With this pattern there will also be chances of snow with a chance of light snow Tuesday into Wednesday.  A bigger storm is being shown for next weekend on the European model and right now it is indicating more than two feet of snow, however the American model does not show any storm.  I do believe once Joan takes down the winter shower curtain today it will cause the storm to move safely out to sea… As you might know when a butterfly flaps it wings it could change the weather pattern, same may be true with the removal of the curtain. Time will tell..

Skies are cloudy at daybreak this morning and temperatures have fallen to the low 20s in the Clifton area to the teens further inland.  There could be some black ice on some untreated roads and sidewalks so be careful walking and driving this morning.

Rain will develop around 10am, inland some of the precipitation will fall as freezing rain but most areas temperatures should be above freezing when the rain begins.  Most rain will be light and will end by this evening..

Thursday will start off dry but another system moving in from the west will give us a  chance of rain by tomorrow evening, temperatures will continue mild.

Even milder on Friday but a front will cause showers with even an outside chance of a thunderstorm, highs will reach the low 50s.

The weekend should be dry and mild especially on Saturday.

Colder weather returns next week and if any storm develops in this pattern the precipitation should fall mainly as snow.

A band of mostly light snow started around 4am this morning, temperatures are in the low 20s in the Clifton area with teens inland.

Light snow will continue only for the next couple of hours with accumulations of only an inch or two, precipitation should change to rain before ending.  Temperatures will rise to near 40 degrees by this afternoon.

More light precipitation during the day on Wednesday but this will fall primarily as rain as temperatures rise into the 40s.

Dry and mild on Thursday.

A cold front moving through on Friday will cause rain showers to develop before daybreak and continue through the day, however temperatures will rise into the 50s.

The weekend will be dry with high temperatures in the 40s.

Colder weather will return next week.
