The heavy rain has ended with just over 2 inches falling overnight causing some flooding. Temperatures early on this Thursday morning range from 48 in Clifton down to 43 at High Point and Vernon. Winds are mainly from the northeast averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 25.

The low pressure that gave us the heavy rain overnight is moving off the Maryland coast but an upper level low will continue to give us cloudy skies with occasional light rain and drizzle. High temperatures should be in the 50s.

Still a chance of showers on Friday as the upper level low moves further offshore. Continued mild with highs in the 50s.

High pressure building into the area will cause dry conditions Saturday through at least the middle of next week. Temperatures will be cooler but will average slightly above normal as no frigid Arctic air is in sight for our area.

High pressure is moving offshore and today will be mostly cloudy and mild with light winds.

A low pressure system is expected to give our area rain mainly from around 9 a.m. on Wednesday through the early morning hours of Thursday. Rainfall amounts will average around an inch which may cause some minor flooding of some streams and rivers.

An upper level low will still give us a chance of showers Thursday and Friday.

High pressure will then move into our area for the New Year’s Holiday weekend with mainly dry conditions and cooler temperatures.

High pressure over our area will give us dry and mild weather today. Skies will be mostly cloudy and highs will be in the low 50s but may be warmer if we get more sunshine this afternoon.

The high pressure will move off the coast on Tuesday, during the day will be mainly dry with continued mild temperatures and light winds.

A low pressure system is expected to move through the area Tuesday night through Wednesday night with rain developing and possibly becoming heavy at times. The latest indications that rainfall amounts will average between 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches which may cause some flooding.

An upper air disturbance will continue a chance of showers Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will be quite mild on Thursday but cooler on Friday.

At this point the New Year’s weekend looks to be dry with seasonably cold temperatures.

A weak disturbance is giving parts of our area some sprinkles this morning and the rest of the day should remain cloudy and a little milder with light winds. The weather is much milder than last Christmas Eve when the high temperature was only 15 degrees along with 30 mph winds and wind chills below zero.

High pressure will build into the area on Christmas Day, it will continue to be mild with light winds. Highs will be in the low 50s.

Continued mild and cloudy on Tuesday.

A low pressure system is expected to give us rain from early Wednesday morning through Wednesday night. At this time this storm is expected to be weaker than the last couple of storms but an inch of rainfall may cause some flooding as the ground is still saturated.

An upper level low will continue to give us a chance of showers Thursday and Friday.

Dry and cooler weather is expected for next weekend.
