A low pressure system will be moving into our area today and rain should develop by late this afternoon and continue through Monday before tapering off to drizzle or light rain Monday night and then end Tuesday morning. Some of the higher elevations of Sussex County may have a period of freezing rain tonight and a winter weather advisory has been issued for that area. Rainfall amounts in our area will be around 1 1/2 inches.

Clearing later on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will be dry with seasonably mild temperatures.

Dry and mild during the day on Thursday but another low pressure system will give us a chance of rain Thursday night through Friday.

High pressure building into our area will give us a mostly sunny and mild day, highs will reach the 50s and with light winds it will feel quite comfortable for late December.

A frontal system will cause rain to develop late Sunday afternoon and continue through Monday night and ending before daybreak on Tuesday. Rainfall amounts of near 2 inches are likely.

Dry with seasonably mild temperatures the rest of Tuesday through Thursday.

Another frontal system may give us more rain Friday into Saturday morning.

A low pressure system will give us rain from late Sunday afternoon through Monday night, the rain may be heavy at times especially Sunday night into Monday morning, rainfall amounts of 1 1/2 to 2 inches are likely, temperatures will continue to be mild.
