SATURDAY  JULY 29, 2017  5:50 A.M.

Skies are cloudy over the area early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from upper 60s in the Clifton area down to the low 60s further inland, dew points have dropped into the comfortable low 50s and there is a brisk northeast wind.    Rain is falling south of the Raritan River.

A rather strong low pressure area will move to our south and east today, it now appears that most of Northern New Jersey will stay dry while the central and southern parts of the state will have rain mainly this morning.  It will be cloudy this morning with some sunshine this afternoon, temperatures will be cool and the humidity will remain low with a brisk northeast wind.  Tonight will be clear and cool with most lows dropping into the 50s.

More sunshine with seasonably warm temperatures on Sunday with continued low humidity as dew points drop to the unseasonable 40s.

Mainly dry this upcoming week with slowly rising temperatures and humidity, the next chance of showers will be Thursday into Friday as a front approaches from the west.

FRIDAY  JULY 28, 2017   5:58 A.M.

Our area has mostly clear skies early in this Friday morning and temperatures are a little higher than the last few mornings with readings ranging from the upper 60s in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland where there are  pockets of dense fog, winds are mainly calm.

Today we will have a mix of clouds and sun as a weak front moves through the area, it will be seasonably warm and humid.

The latest computer models have a low pressure forming along the front causing rain in our area after midnight and continue into the day on Saturday.  It now appears that the heaviest rain will be south of our area, with lighter amounts to our north.   It will be windy during the day with temperatures mainly staying in the 70s.

High pressure will build into the area on Sunday giving us a very pleasant day with low humidity, plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.

Most of next week looks to be mainly dry with warmer temperatures.

THURSDAY  JULY 27, 2017  5:44 A.M.

Skies have become mostly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Today we will have mostly cloudy skies with slightly higher temperatures and humidity than the last few days, there is a low chance of a shower this afternoon and evening as a frontal system approaches from the west.

It now appears that most of Friday will be dry but a low pressure developing on a front to our south will likely cause rain Friday night into most of Saturday, some of the rain may be heavy at times with 1-2 inches expected.

At this time Sunday looks to be mainly dry but some computer models are indicating that there may be some lingering rain especially in the morning.

Monday through Wednesday should be dry with increasing temperatures and humidity.

WEDNESDAY  JULY 26, 2017  5:44 A.M.

Skies are partly to mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the mid 60s in the Clifton area to the upper 50s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

High pressure over the northeast states will give us fair weather today and with more sunshine,  temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday reaching to near 80 degrees which is still a little below normal.

Thursday will start off mostly sunny but we should see an increase in clouds in the afternoon with a chance of some showers as high pressure moves off the coast and a low pressure system approaches from the west.

Heavy rain possible and more humid Thursday night into Friday as the low pressure system moves into the area.

Some lingering showers possible Saturday morning followed by clearing, temperatures will be a little below normal.

Very nice weather is expected Sunday through Tuesday with plenty of sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures each day.

Skies are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and it is comfortably cool with temperatures ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area down to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light northeasterly.   Yesterday in Clifton we recorded 1.22 inches of rain.

High pressure building in from the Great Lakes will give us another cool day, there will be considerable cloudiness but most areas will remain dry.

Slightly milder on Wednesday with more sunshine.

A warm front will move through on Thursday followed by a cold front on Friday.  Showers are likely mainly from Thursday night into Friday morning, some of the rain may be heavy at times. Temperatures will be warmer with higher humidity.

At this point the weekend looks nice with seasonably warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine and low humidity.
