Good morning!     Rain is falling over the area early this morning,  with heavy rain reported in some spots;  temperatures range from around 40 in Clifton to the mid 30s further inland &  there is a brisk easterly wind.

A low pressure system will give us rain which will fall heavy at times this morning;  the rain should taper off and end by early this afternoon, temperatures will be in the 40s.  Rainfall amounts averaging 1 inch to 1 1/4 inches.

A very nice stretch of weather to close out the month of February with sunny conditions each day and temperatures well up into the 50s Monday through Wednesday.

A rather strong storm is expected to give us another soaking rain Thursday into early Saturday. Inland, some areas may be cold enough for some snow to mix in at times, especially Friday night into Saturday morning.  Temperatures will be cooler with highs mostly in the 40s.

TODAY – FEB 25 – Rain heavy at times this morning with rain ending by early this afternoon, high in the upper 40s.   Rainfall amounts averaging between 1 to 1 1/4 inches likely.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with some fog, low in the mid 30s.

MONDAY – FEB 26 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

TUESDAY – FEB 27 – Sunny, high in the mid 50s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 28 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY – MAR 1 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, high in the low 50s, rain likely at night.

FRIDAY – MAR 2 – Cloudy with rain likely, high in the upper 40s,  rain may mix with snow at night.

SATURDAY  FEBRUARY 24, 2018  5:43 A.M.

Good morning everyone!    Skies are mostly cloudy early this morning and temperatures are milder than yesterday ranging from the low 40s here in Clifton to the upper 30s further inland, winds are light.

A frontal system is expected to give us some light rain this afternoon into tonight, temperatures will be milder with highs reaching the 50s.

A stronger front and low pressure system is expected to give us heavier rain from after midnight tonight into Sunday afternoon, temperatures will continue to be mild.  Rainfall amounts will average between 1 to 1.5 inches.

Very nice spring like weather Monday through Wednesday, skies will be mostly sunny each day and daytime highs will be in the 50s.

Another low pressure area will give us a good chance of rain once again Thursday into Friday.

Good morning!   Our skies are cloudy early this morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area down to the upper 20s further inland, there is a light northeast wind.

High pressure to our north and low pressure to our south will cause cool conditions again today with mainly light rain this afternoon into this evening.

Milder on Saturday but we will still have cloudy skies, it should be dry in the morning but rain chances increase in the afternoon.  Rain will fall moderate at times Saturday night into early Sunday afternoon with an inch of rain expected.   Temperatures on Sunday will be cooler than on Saturday.

Mild and dry weather is expected Monday through the day on Wednesday, daytime highs each day will be in the 50s.

More rain is expected Wednesday night and Thursday.

THURSDAY  FEBRUARY 22, 2018  5:54 A.M.

Good morning everyone!   Our skies are cloudy early this morning and there is some light rain in parts of the area, temperatures have fallen to the low 40s in Clifton ranging down to the upper 30s further inland, winds are from the northeast averaging 10-15 mph.

Yesterday was incredibly warm across the entire area, the high temperature in Clifton was 80 degrees which broke the daily record by 17 degrees and it also broke the record for the warmest February temperature by 5 degrees.  Newark had a high of 80, while in Central Park it reached 78 degrees, both February records.

Much cooler today as high pressure builds from the north,  low pressure along the front to our south will cause periods of rain during today, and as temperatures fall to around freezing this evening the rain may mix with sleet, especially inland.

Mainly dry Friday morning but more rain is expected by the afternoon and again some of the precipitation may be mixed with freezing rain or sleet in the morning.

A little milder over the weekend but with continued periods of rain especially from Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Fair weather early next week, temperatures will be above normal but not as warm as we experienced the last couple of days.

WEDNESDAY  FEBRUARY 21, 2018  5:53 A.M.

Good morning everyone!   Our area has low clouds early this morning and there is some patchy fog around again, temperatures are incredibly warm with temperatures in the low 60s here in Clifton but range down to the 40s further inland, Walpack now is down to a chilly 38 degrees.   Yesterday the temperature reached 68 degrees here in Clifton which was a record for the date.

Low clouds should burn off after sunrise and it will be a very warm day with temperatures reaching the 70s which would be another record high for today.  A cold front will move through the area tonight possibly accompanied by an evening shower.

Tomorrow will be much cooler day with periods of rain that may mix with some sleet late tomorrow afternoon into the night, temperatures in the 40s tomorrow morning will drop to the 30s by night.

Friday will be a cool day with periods of rain which may be mixed with frozen precipitation in the morning inland.

The weekend looks to be unsettled with periods of rain, it will be milder with highs both days in the 50s.

Dry weather returns early next week with slightly above normal temperatures.
