Pleasant Wednesday with lower humidity; nice and cool tonight!


At daybreak this morning it is still rather warm and muggy but a cold front will be pushing south of our area this morning and high pressure will build behind it. With mostly sunny skies high temperatures will still be in the mid to upper 80s but the humidity will start to fall by this afternoon.
Tonight will be refreshingly cool with temperatures falling to the low 60s in the Clifton area and into the 50s in the normally cooler areas.
Comfortable temperatures Thursday and Friday but there is a slight chance of a shower both days as a disturbance moves along the front to our south.
Seasonably warm on the weekend and a little more humid but shower chances increase with the best chance of rain on Sunday as another cold front approaches.
Showers may linger into Monday then clearing and again less humid early next week with near normal temperatures..

More flash flooding possible today; Much less humid by Wednesday afternoon!


Over two inches of rain fell in the Clifton area as we had some torrential downpours yesterday afternoon and again during the overnight hours.
It is muggy again this morning but most of the heavy rain has moved offshore. We should have a dry morning but showers and thunderstorms are likely again this afternoon with more very heavy downpours in some area. A flash flood watch is in effect until 8PM this evening. It will be warm and humid with highs in the 80s.
A cold front will cross the area tomorrow morning with much drier air behind the front, with sunshine tomorrow high temperatures will be in the 80s.
Thursday will be a very pleasant day with very low humidity, early morning temperatures will range in the upper 50s to the low 60s and daytime highs in the low 80s.
Pleasant weather to continue on Friday.
Little more humid on the weekend, there may be a pop up thunderstorm on Saturday but a better chance of showers on Sunday as another cold front approaches our area.
No sign of intense heat for a least the next two weeks.

Muggy with showers today and Tuesday!


We finally got rid of the oppressive heat of last week but humidity is still on the high side. At daybreak this morning we have mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 70s.
With a cold front just to our south showers and thunderstorms will become likely by this afternoon and continue into Tuesday. High temperatures will be in the more reasonable 80s but humidity will remain on the high side.
Finally some less humid air for Wednesday and Thursday with continued near normal temperatures.
Some unsettled weather Friday into next weekend, high temperatures will be mainly in the 80s.
The long range computer models show no sign of the high heat returning through early August.

Get ready for another 100 degree day! Relief coming by Sunday!


Another very warm and muggy night, temperatures at daybreak in Clifton fell just below the 80 degree mark.
With plenty of sunshine again today high temperatures will reach near 100 degrees and with dew points in the 70s will push the heat index to near 110 degrees.
A cold front will be approaching the area on Saturday, temperatures will still rise into the 90s with high humidity before the frontal passage. Thunderstorms are likely tomorrow afternoon into the evening, some may be strong.
Finally some relief from the heat by Sunday with mostly sunny skies temperatures will only rise into the mid to upper 80s.
Next week most highs will be in 80s but there will be chances of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday through Thursday.

Saturday – Partly sunny and humid with showers and thunderstorms likely mainly between 2-8PM, some storms may have gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rain, high in the mid 90s.

Monday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 80s.
Tuesday – Mostly Cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

Heat wave continues; Another hot July 18th


According to my records July 18th has the most 90 degrees or higher temperature than any other day of the year (20 out of 40). Just last July 18th it hit 102 degrees.
With an overnight low of barely under 80 degrees we are off to the races with some high temperatures reaching 100 in some spots. Humidity will be on the rise and there will be a chance of an afternoon or evening thunderstorm but most areas will not see one.
Even more humid on Friday with high temperatures in the upper 90s heat index may be past 105 degrees. Still a chance of a scattered thunderstorm.
Most of the thunderstorm activity will be from noon on Saturday through Saturday night as a cold front slowly approaches our area. Some of these storms may reach severe levels. It will still be hot and humid.
Still a chance of showers on Sunday as the cold front slowly sags south of our area, it will be gradually cooler and less humid.
Beautiful summer weather on Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 80s.
