Warm and humid today with showers and thunderstorms likely! Mostly sunny and hot on Sunday but less humid!


SATURDAY  JULY 1, 2017  5:56 A.M.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are warm again with readings ranging from the low 70s in the Clifton area to the mid 60s further inland, winds are light and the humidity is high as dew points are near 70 degrees.

Today we will have a mix of clouds and sun and it will be warm and humid, there is a small chance of a shower this morning as some rain is now moving through central New Jersey that may move into parts of the area.  Showers and thunderstorms,  some that may be heavy are likely late this afternoon and evening as a cold front  approaches the area.

The front will pass through on Sunday morning and it will  become mostly sunny during the day; it will be hot but less humid by the afternoon.

Monday will be quite warm again but there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Mostly sunny on Independance Day and on Wednesday with seasonably warm temperatures and lower humidity.

Another frontal system may give us showers Thursday into Friday.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with numerous showers and thunderstorms likely, some storms may again by accompanied by heavy rain and strong gusty winds, humid, low in the upper 60s.

SUNDAY – JUL 2 – Mostly sunny and hot but less humid, high in the low 90s.

MONDAY – JUL 3 – Mostly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high near 90.

INDEPENDACE DAY – JUL 4 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

WEDNESDAY – JUL 5 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

THURSDAY – JUL 6 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

FRIDAY – JUL 7 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  A small craft advisory is in effect till 11 p.m tonight for southerly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 67 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Sunday through Wednesday.
