Hot and humid today with showers and thunderstorms likely late in the afternoon into this evening! Much cooler with showers on Sunday!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early this morning and temperatures are quite warm with readings ranging from the low 70s in the Clifton area down to around 60 further inland, winds are light.

High pressure will be moving off the coast as a backdoor cold front approaches from the north.  During the day today we should have partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures rising to near 90 degrees, the humidity will be much higher than the last few days with dew points in the 60s.  The front will cause some shower and thunderstorm activity late this afternoon into tonight, some of the storms may be accompanied by heavy rain.

The front will cross the area around daybreak on Sunday with a much cooler onshore flow and with the clouds and showers, daytime highs will not rise much if at all with highs only in the 60s.

Memorial Day will likely be dry but with cool tempertures continuing.

Warmer and dry on Tuesday.

Dry weather with seasonably warm temperatures Wednesday through the day on Thursday.

Another frontal system along with some tropical moisture from sub-tropical storm Alberto may give us showers late Thursday into Friday.

SUNDAY – MAY 27 – Cloudy and much cooler with rain likely mainly before noon, highs only in the 60s.

TUESDAY – MAY 29 – Mostly sunny and warm, high in the upper 80s.

WEDNESDAY – MAY 30 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

THURSDAY – MAY 31 – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 70s, chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.

FRIDAY – JUN 1 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high near 80.

OUTLOOK – A small craft advisory has been posted effective from noon till midnight on Sunday; no advisories expected Monday through Wednesday.

Our area has mostly clear skies early this morning and with calm winds there is a wide range in temperatures with the mid 60s in the Clifton area down to the upper 40s well inland.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine with slowly increasing humidity and very warm temperatures as highs will reach close to the 90 degree mark, high pressure will be over the area.

Very warm and humid on Saturday ahead of a backdoor cold front that will approach the area late Saturday afternoon.  Showers and thunderstorms are likely from late Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.  Some of these storms may be accompanied by heavy rain and gusty winds.

Showers possibly continuing during the day on Sunday mainly in the morning along with much cooler temperatures.

It now appears that Memorial Day will be dry but with continued cool temperatures.

Dry weather Tuesday through much of next week, Tuesday will be warm but slightly cooler Wednesday and Thursday as a more onshore wind develops.

Today will be pleasantly warm with low humidity and plenty of sunshine, high temperatures will reach the low 80s.  High pressure will be in control of our weather.

The high pressure will move slowly off the coast and a return flow of quite warm and increasingly humid air will be with us Friday and Saturday.

A backdoor cold front will pass to our south Saturday night or Sunday morning followed by cooler temperatures and a good chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Memorial Day should be cool but only with a low chance of showers.

Fair weather with  seasonably warm temperatures will return for next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Skies are mostly cloudy early this morning and there are some showers and thunderstorms in parts of the area, temperatures range from the mid to upper 50s, winds are mainly calm.

The frontal system that gave us the rain yesterday and showers overnight will move offshore this morning and high pressure will be building in from the northwest, skies will become partly sunny later this morning and mostly sunny this afternoon, temperatures will warm into the 80s but the humidity will be lower.

The high pressure ridge will control our weather tomorrow through Saturday with plenty of sunshine each day along with warm temperatures.  Saturday the mercury may rise to close to 90 with increasing humidity.

Unsettled weather and cooler Sunday and on Memorial Day as a backdoor cold front will be moving to our south and some tropical moisture moves toward the area from the south.

A frontal system will cause showers to develop mainly after 10 a.m. and continue into the early evening, with considerable cloudiness and a light onshore winds temperatures today will be cooler.

High pressure building into the area on Wednesday and will control our weather through Saturday providing our area with plenty of sunshine each day with warm temperatures.

Unsettled weather is expected Sunday and on Memorial Day with a chance of showers both days along with cooler temperatures.
