Good morning!

Skies are partly cloudy early this morning and temperatures range from the upper 50s in the Clifton area down to the upper 40s in some inland areas, winds are mainly calm.

A weak cold front will cross the area this morning followed by high pressure building in from the northwest, we should see plenty of sunshine with high temperatures near normal.

The front will be just south of the area over the weekend which will likely give us showers over the weekend, it won’t rain all the time with the best chance of precipitation would be tomorrow morning and again tomorrow evening through Sunday morning.  Temperatures will be near seasonable levels tomorrow but be cooler than normal on Sunday.

Sunshine returns for Monday with milder temperatures.

Warmer temperatures Tuesday through most of next week with a slow increase in humidity.  A slow moving cold front may touch off some showers and thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday.

Skies have become cloudy early this morning and temperatures are similar to the last couple of morning with readings ranging from the low 50s in the Clifton area down to the low 40s further inland.  There is some fog and drizzle in parts of the area but most places remain dry.

Low clouds will burn off this morning and it will become partly sunny by later this morning.  A cold front will approach the area this afternoon with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some of these storms may be severe with strong gust winds and possibly some hail.

High pressure returns for Friday, temperatures will continue to be seasonably mild.

Unsettled weather for the weekend as a front will be in our area causing periods of rain, Saturday will be mild but it will be cooler on Sunday.

Mainly dry weather Monday and Tuesday with showers again possible on Wednesday, temperatures will average above normal.

The high pressure will continue to control our weather on Tuesday and Wednesday with a slight warming trend.

Seasonable temperatures Friday and Saturday and we should stay dry.

Much warmer on Sunday as the front will move to our north, with the warmer air there will be a chance of showers in the afternoon and evening.

A few weak areas of low pressure will move through our area today and we should have cloudy skies all day with cooler temperatures, some showers should prevail more likely this afternoon and tonight.

A cold front will cross the area late tonight and move slowly off the coast.  Monday should be a dry day but with considerable cloudiness which will keep temperatures on the cool side.

High pressure then builds into the area Monday night and be with us through the day on Thursday.  We should enjoy pleasant spring weather with dry conditions and near seasonable temperatures.

A cold front may give us showers on Thursday night into Friday morning followed by clearing weather to start next weekend, again temperatures will be near seasonable levels.

A cold front came through late last night and high pressure will build into the area.  Temperatures will be quite pleasant with highs well up into the 70s, humidity will be much lower today and we should have partly sunny skies.

Tonight we will have an increase in cloudiness as a disturbance along a front to our south approaches our area, rain from this system will likely begin before daybreak with periods of rain and  possibly a thunderstorm on Sunday and Sunday night, temperatures with the cloud cover and rain will be cool.

Dry weather most of next week with pleasant springtime temperatures as high pressure builds into the area.   The next chance of showers after tomorrow will be on Friday as a cold front moves across the area.

Skies are mostly cloudy early this morning and again it is quite warm with readings ranging from around 70 in the Clifton area down the the low 60s further inland.  Humidity levels are much higher than the last few mornings as dew points have risen to the 60s.   Yesterday in Clifton we had a record high of 93 degrees.

Today will be another very warm day with higher humidity as high pressure off the Mid-Atlantic coast continues a southwest flow.  High temperatures may be a couple of degrees lower than yesterday due to more cloud cover.  It will become quite breezy this afternoon with gusts to 30 mph possible.  Also as a cold front approaches showers and thunderstorms should develop later this afternoon and continue into tonight, some of these storms may become severe especially over inland areas.

The cold front will move to our south and east tomorrow and we will have cooler temperature but should stay dry during the day.

A weak disturbance moving along the front to our south will give us a good chance of showers from late Saturday night into Sunday.  Temperatures will only reach the 60s.

High pressure building in will give us some very nice spring weather most of next week with plenty of sunshine each day along with seasonably mild temperatures.

Skies are partly cloudy early this morning and temperatures once again are very mild with readings ranging from around 70 in the Clifton area down to the lower 50s further inland, winds are calm to light southwesterly.     We certainly went from winter to summer,  April 2nd – 6 1/2 inches of snow,  May 2nd – 90 degrees.

High pressure anchored off the coast will give the area another quite warm day today with temperatures once again approaching the 90 degree mark, the humidity will slowly increase and there is a low chance of some showers and thunderstorms this evening especially inland.

Friday will be quite warm again with higher humidity and as a cold front approaches there is a better chance of thunderstorm activity in the late afternoon and evening.

The cold front will move through late Friday night and the weekend will be cooler, also a weak disturbance along the front may cause some showers late Saturday night into Sunday.

Some nice spring weather is expected Monday though the middle of next week with plenty of sunshine along with pleasantly mild temperatures.

Strong high pressure off the southeast coast will continue to give us a southwest flow of very warm air, temperatures should rise well up into the 80s today through Friday.  The humidity will be quite low today and with a brisk southwest wind there is an elevated risk of brush fires in the area, a red flag warning has been posted.

Humidity levels will increase tomorrow and especially on Friday.  A cold front on Friday may give us some showers.

The weekend looks to be mainly dry with more seasonable temperatures and lower humidity.

Dry weather to continue early next week with seasonable temperatures continuing.

APRIL 2018 CLIFTON MONTHLY SUMMARY:

Temperatures averaged 47.5 degrees for the month which was 3.5 degrees below normal and the coolest April since 1992.  Highest reading was 84 degrees on the 13th while the lowest was 27 degrees recorded on the 9th.

Precipitation totaled 7.61 inches which was well above normal and the wettest April since 2007!  The highest amount fell on the 16th when 3.23 inches were recorded.

Snowfall totaled 6.5 inches which was the highest monthly amount since 1982.  All of the snow accumulation fell on April 2nd.
