Winter storm warning for today and Monday! Snow beginning late this morning mixing with sleet and freezing rain this afternoon, changing to rain tonight and then back to snow on Monday!

We have cloudy skies early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the mid 20s in Clifton down to the upper teens further inland, winds are light out of the north.

Winter storm warning for our area for today and Monday as we start off meteorological winter. A storm in the midwest will move east then redevelop off our coast. Snow from this system will begin around 10-11 a.m. this morning quickly mixing with sleet and freezing rain this afternoon and then to all rain by tonight. Accumulations of snow and sleet will be around 1-2 inches in our area but more to our north and west.

The coastal storm will then intensify on Monday as it slowly moves up the coast and colder air will be moving into our area which will cause the precipitation change back to snow by morning and continue through Monday night. An additional 2-4 inches of snow accumulation with higher amounts across inland areas to our north and west.

Dry and more quiet weather Tuesday through the end of next week with seasonably cold temperatures.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – DEC 1 – Snow developing late this morning, mixing with sleet and freezing rain this afternoon then changing to all rain late this afternoon, high near 40, possible snow and sleet accumulations of 1-2 inches possible.

TONIGHT – Rain, low in the mid 30s.

MONDAY – DEC 2 – Rain early changing to snow by 10 a.m and continuing into the night, high in the upper 30s, new snow accumulations of 2-4 inches possible.

TUESDAY – DEC 3 – Partly sunny, high near 40.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 4 – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

THURSDAY – DEC 5 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – DEC 6 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

SATURDAY – DEC 7 – Sunny, high in the upper 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning will be in effect between 10 am this morning until 10 p.m. tonight for easterly winds gusting to 35 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories expected Monday through the day on Tuesday; no advisories expected Tuesday night and Wednesday; possible small craft conditions Wednesday night into Thursday.
