Snow developing this morning and continuing mostly light into Friday, total accumulations 4-8 inches! Dry and cold weather for the weekend! Light snow changing to rain likely on Monday!

We have cloudy skies early on this Thursday morning and some flurries are falling in some inland areas. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 26 in Clifton down to 16 at High Points. Winds are light from the north.

Low pressure is developing along the southeast coast and is expected to slowly move up the coast. Snow should develop around 9-10 a.m. and continue into tonight. It appears that most of the snow will be light but the heaviest accumulations should be between late this morning into the middle of this afternoon. Some light snow will continue into tonight.

More mainly light snow will likely fall on Friday. Total accumulations from the storm will average between 4-8 inches.

The weekend will be dry but chilly. Saturday will be windy with less wind on Sunday.

Another low pressure will likely give us some light snow Monday morning changing to light rain Monday afternoon.

Dry and milder Tuesday and Wednesday.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – FEB 18 – Snow developing around 9-10 a.m., cold with highs only in the upper 20s.

TONIGHT – Light snow, low in the mid 20s.

FRIDAY – FEB 19 – Light snow, high in the mid 30s, total snow accumulation 4-8 inches.

SATURDAY – FEB 20 – Mostly sunny and breezy, high in the mid 30s.

SUNDAY – FEB 21 – Sunny, high in the mid 30s.

MONDAY – FEB 22 – Cloudy with light snow in the morning changing to light rain in the afternoon, high near 40.

TUESDAY – FEB 23 – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 24 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday evening for northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories likely will continue Friday night into Saturday; no advisories expected for Sunday; advisories possible on Monday.
