High pressure extending from eastern Canada will give our area a nice sunny day today with light winds and seasonably cool temperatures.

As the high moves offshore a southwesterly flow of milder air will move into our area on Thursday, skies will be mostly sunny.

Tropical storm Nicole will then combine with a strong cold front approaching from the west which will cause rain moderate to heavy at times mainly Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. It appears that the heaviest rain will now be just to our west but we should still pick up between 1-2 inches of rainfall. A strong southerly wind will gust to 30-35 mph. Temperatures will remain mild with an increase in humidity.

The cold front will move to our east by Saturday evening with a brisk northwest flow of cooler and drier air.

Quite cool and mainly dry Sunday through the middle of next week.
