Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and it is warm and muggy with temperatures ranging from the low 70s in Clifton down to the low 60s further inland, winds are mainly calm or light southwesterly.

We ended our 16 days without any precipitation yesterday, but only .04″ was recorded in some brief showers. Today we will try again to get some much needed rain, showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, some of the storms may be accompanied by gusty winds and small hail. Temperatures will be quite warm and the humidity will remain high.

A weak high pressure will give us another warm day on Monday but it is expected to remain dry.

An upper level low pressure will give our area unsettled weather Tuesday through Friday with a chance of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms each day.

A back door cold front is expected to cross the area Friday night and high pressure will build into our area for the weekend which will provide our area with mostly sunny skies with near normal temperatures each day.

Finally after having nearly 16 days without measurable rain, it is likely we finally see some needed rainfall today as a warm front moves through the area. Southwest winds will increase by this afternoon and it will become humid with dew points rising to near 70 degrees. The best chance of rain will be late this morning and again late this afternoon into this evening. Some storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and heavy downpours.

Sunday will be quite warm and a little muggy with again a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening as a weak cold front passes through our area.

Monday looks to be a dry day, but an upper level low in our area will give our area chances of thunderstorms each afternoon Tuesday through Friday. Temperatures during this period will average at or slightly above normal, dew points should be mainly in the mid 60s.

High pressure will control our weather again today providing our are with plenty of sunshine with warm temperatures and the humidity will still be comfortable with dew points in the 50s.

A warm front passing through Saturday morning will be followed by a cold front passing through the area Saturday night. Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening some storms may be strong to severe. Temperatures will be lower than we thought yesterday with highs staying in the 80s, however the humidity will rise with dew points in the 60s.

Sunday will be quite warm but the humidity will be slightly lower, there is still a chance of an afternoon shower but most places will stay dry.

After a dry Monday there will be a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms Tuesday through Thursday as a weak upper air trough moves through. Temperatures will be near or slightly above normal and the humidity will be moderate with dew points mainly in the 60s.

High pressure building form the mid-west will give us mostly sunny skies both today and on Friday with comfortable humidity and warm temperatures.

The weekend will be quite warm to hot with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon through Sunday night. We could use the rain since we have not had measurable precipitation since June 11th which is the longest dry spell since October 2017 when we had 16 dry days.

After a warm and sunny Monday there will be a chance of showers on Tuesday followed by dry weather for Wednesday with near seasonable temperatures.
