Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and once again with light winds there is a wide spread in temperatures ranging from the low 50s in the Clifton area down to the upper 30s further inland.

Today once again we will have plenty of sunshine with quite mild temperatures as high pressure continues to dominate our weather.

Sunny and mild weather will continue Friday through the weekend with daytime high temperatures well up into the 70s each day.

A slow moving cold front with low pressure moving along the front may cause significant rain Tuesday into Wednesday, temperatures will continue to be above normal.

Skies are clear and with light winds there is a wide spread in temperatures  ranging from around 50 in the Clifton area down to the low 30s in some of the inland areas.

High pressure will give us sunny weather today and with a southwest wind high temperatures will be around 10 degrees higher than yesterday.

A remarkable stretch of sunny weather with above normal temperatures will continue Thursday through the weekend with highs in the 70s each day.

A frontal system will give us a good chance of significant rain Monday night into Tuesday.

TUESDAY  OCTOBER 17, 2017  5:40 A.M.

Skies are clear across the area  early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are the coolest so far this season with readings ranging from around 40 in the Clifton area down to around 30 further inland, Walpack now has dipped down to 27 degrees.  These temperatures are only about five degrees below normal.

We will have sunshine today but it will be cool with highs mostly in the low 60s.

Back to above normal temperatures Wednesday through the weekend with plenty of sunshine each day, high temperatures  should be in the 70s  which is about 10 degrees above normal.

MONDAY  OCTOBER 16 2017  5:44 A.M.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Monday morning and there are some showers in parts of the area, it is still mild with temperatures ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area down to the low 50s further inland, winds are gusty out of the northwest.

A cold front is moving offshore, showers will end this morning, a brisk northwest flow of cooler air today with temperatures only rising a couple of degrees from the current levels.

Tonight will have the coolest readings of the fall season so far as temperatures drop into the 30s, a frost advisory is in effect for Sussex, Morris and Warren Counties in northwest New Jersey.

Tuesday will be a mostly fair and cool day with diminishing winds.

This cool shot will be short lived as high pressure moves slowly off the coast on Wednesday and warmer air moves into the area.  Temperatures will be above normal with most highs in the 70s from Wednesday through the weekend.  It will also be rainfree through the weekend.

TODAY – OCT 16 – Mostly cloudy this morning with a chance of showers, becoming partly sunny by this afternoon, breezy and cooler, high in the low 60s.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low in the upper 30s, patchy frost possible.

SUNDAY  OCTOBER 15, 2017  5:46 A.M.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and we have unseasonably mild temperatures with readings ranging from the mid 60s in the Clifton area down to the upper 50s further inland, there is some patch fog in some areas.

Today will be a mostly cloudy and humid day as high pressure moves off the coast and a cold front approaches from the west, winds will become southwest and become gusty this afternoon, high temperatures will be well up into the 70s and if we get more sunshine the low 80s is within reach.

The cold front will cross the area early tomorrow morning with only a low chance of a shower, the front will be followed by much cooler but more seasonable temperatures with a gusty northwest wind.  Temperatures by Tuesday morning will fall to the 30s in many areas along with some scattered frost.

Dry weather is expected much of this week, temperatures on Tuesday will be near or slightly below seasonable levels but then back to above normal readings Wednesday through the upcoming weekend.
