Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there is some light rain or drizzle in parts of the area, temperatures are mild ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area down to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light.

A weak disturbance will give us cloudy skies this morning with some light rain or drizzle, by this afternoon we should see some breaks in the clouds and temperatures will rise into the 70s.

After some low clouds and possible drizzle on Sunday morning we will have clearing during the day, temperatures will rise into the 80s and it will be rather humid, winds will be brisk out of the southwest as high pressure moves offshore.  The front may cause some showers Sunday night.

A cold front will cross the area early on Monday morning followed by much cooler air, winds will be brisk during the day.

Tuesday will continue to be chilly and dry, early morning lows should be the coolest of the season so far with many areas falling into the 30s.

Dry weather with temperatures again rising above normal on Wednesday with warm and dry weather extending through late next week into next weekend.

FRIDAY  OCTOBER 13, 2017.  5:54 A.M.

Skies are partly to mostly cloudy early on this Friday the 13th, temperatures range from the upper 40s in the Clifton area down to the low 40s further inland, winds are light northeasterly.

A strong high pressure off the New England coast will keep a light onshore flow, skies will become cloudy, temperatures will be similar to yesterday’s averaging in the mid 60s which is normal for this time of year.

A weak trough will be moving into the area on Saturday, skies will remain mostly cloudy and there is a chance of some light rain or drizzle, it will become milder and more humid.

There still will be a chance of some light rain Sunday morning followed by clearing and it will be warm and humid, high temperatures should reach the 80s.  A cold front will approach the area causing a chance of some showers at night.

The front will be followed by much cooler air on Monday.  High pressure then will be with us providing dry conditions through next week, Monday and Tuesday will be seasonably cool with above normal temperatures again returning by late in the week….

THURSDAY  OCTOBER 12, 2017  5:52 A.M.

We have light rain falling early on this Thursday morning, temperatures range from the mid 50s in the Clifton area down to the upper 40s further inland, winds are brisk out of the east.  These temperatures are cooler than the last few mornings but it is still about 10 degrees above normal.

A weak disturbance will cause some early morning showers but we should see clearing by this afternoon as high pressure to our north builds into the area, temperatures will be cool remaining in the 60s which is near normal for this time of year.  There will be a brisk onshore winds.

Mainly dry weather and cool on Friday as high pressure moves off the New England coast.

Warmer on the weekend especially on Sunday when temperatures reach the 80s, it will be mainly dry but a weak trough of low pressure may touch off some light showers Saturday morning.  It will also become more humid.

A cold front will cross the area early Monday morning that may touch off a shower Sunday night, the front will be followed by seasonably cool temperatures and much lower humidity.

Seasonably cool and mainly dry most of next week.

Skies have become mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning, temperatures continue to be unseasonably mild with readings ranging from the low 60s in the Clifton area down to the low 50s further inland, winds are light.

A weak disturbance will cause cloudy skies today with showers developing by late this afternoon and continuing into tonight, about 1/4 of an inch of rainfall is expected.

Cooler Thursday and Friday as high pressure builds down from Eastern Canada, an onshore flow will bring in the cooler air for both days with near normal temperatures, Thursday will be breezy especially in the morning.

Warmer air returns for the weekend along with dry conditions as high pressure moves off the coast and a southwest flow develops.

A cold front will cross the area on Monday with a chance of showers followed by cooler air on Tuesday.

TUESDAY  OCTOBER 10, 2017  5:56 A.M.

Skies have become mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s in the Clifton area down to around 60 further inland, winds are light.  Note that the last two days the temperature did not go below 70, this is the first time since I started my records 44 years ago that the low temperature stayed that warm in October.  Also the 75 degree dew point yesterday was the highest October reading since my records began.

Today will be less humid as dew points have dropped to the 60s, but with plenty of sunshine temperatures should rise above the 80 degree mark.

A weak disturbance will cause skies to become cloudy on Wednesday with a chance of showers in the afternoon and evening.

Fair weather Thursday and Friday with more normal October temperatures as high pressure to our north gives the area an onshore flow.

Back to warm weather for the weekend with mainly dry conditions although there is a low chance of showers Sunday afternoon and evening.
