Skies are partly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures are unseasonably warm, readings ranging from the mid 70s in Clifton to the low 60s in some inland valleys.

Record highs are likely today as temperatures rise to the mid 90s, skies will be partly sunny.  A Bermuda high pressure offshore will continue a west to southwest flow of hot air.

A cold front will cross the area on Friday with no precipitation expected, temperatures will be cooler but still well above normal.

The weekend will be dry and much cooler as a Canadian high pressure builds over the area.

Another cold front will likely give us some shower and thunderstorm activity on Monday.  High pressure will give us a dry day on Tuesday, but more showers are possible with another low pressure system moving into the area on Wednesday.  Temperatures next week look to be near seasonable levels.

Skies are clear early on this Wednesday morning and with calm winds there is a wide range in temperatures, with 60 degrees here in Clifton to some mid 40s in some of the coolest inland valleys.

A Bermuda high pressure will be anchored off the coast which will provide us with a southwest flow of hot and increasingly humid air today and on Thursday. We should see plenty of sunshine both days.  Some record high temperatures are possible especially on Thursday.

A cold front will cross the area on Friday, but it should come through dry, the front will be followed by cooler and drier air.

The weekend looks to be dry and temperatures will cool to more seasonable levels.

Another cold front will cross the area on Monday; showers are likely along with a chance of thunderstorms; temperatures Monday and Tuesday will be slightly above normal.

We have mostly clear skies early on this Tuesday morning and there is a wide range of temperatures ranging from the mid 50s in the Clifton area to as low as 40 in some inland valleys, winds are mainly calm.

With plenty of sunshine today we will finally see some warmer temperatures as high pressure settles into the area.

Near record heat is expected for Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures both days are expected to approach the 90 degree mark;  along with the heat the humidity will be higher.  Dry conditions will continue.

Not as warm on Friday as a cold front will cross the area, it will not be as hot but still well above normal.

More seasonable temperatures over the weekend we should stay dry except for some possible showers Sunday night which may extend into Monday.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the low 50s in the Clifton area to the upper 40s further inland; winds are gusty out of the northwest.

The strong low pressure off the Nova Scotia coast and high pressure building from the west will cause variable amounts of clouds today and it will be quite windy with possible gusts to 40 mph; no rain is expected.

A building Bermuda high pressure will control our weather Tuesday through Thursday with much warmer temperatures; highs by Wednesday will be well up into the 80s and around 90 on Thursday, skies will be mostly sunny.

A cold front will cross the area on Friday but it should come through dry. Temperatures on Friday will be lower but still well above normal.

High pressure will build into the area on Saturday, followed by another front that may give us a shower Sunday night.  Temperatures for the weekend will be seasonably mild.

SUNDAY  MAY 14, 2017  5:50 A.M.

We have mostly cloudy to cloudy skies early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the upper 40s in Clifton to some low 40s further inland; winds are from the north averaging around 10 mph.

Today we will have some sunshine this morning followed by increasing cloudiness this afternoon with showers likely with even a slight risk of a thunderstorm. Some showers may be accompanied by small hail, temperatures will not be as chilly as yesterday but still be below normal.

Monday will be a dry day but still cool. It will be windy as there will be a tight pressure gradient between the departing low pressure off the New England coast and a high pressure ridge building from the southwest.

Much warmer and mainly dry Tuesday through Friday with the hottest day expected to be on Thursday as temperatures rise to near 90.
