It is quite cool early on this Monday morning with temperatures ranging from the low 40s in the Clifton area to the mid 30s further inland, skies are partly to mostly cloudy and there is a light westerly wind.

An upper low pressure will continue to be nearly stationary through this week.  Today we will see some sunshine in the morning; clouds will return this afternoon, but unlike yesterday we should see no rain, it will be breezy by this afternoon.

Below normal temperatures should continue through the next several days. It will be mainly dry through Friday,but a low pressure area will likely give us rain for the Mother’s Day weekend.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from around 50 in the Clifton area to the mid 40s further inland; there is a light southwest wind.

An upper level low in the area will cause mostly cloudy skies today with a chance of mainly afternoon showers, it will cool with highs mostly in the 50s.

The upper level low will be nearly stationary near our area this week causing well below normal temperatures. Most of the week will remain dry but showers are again possible on Friday into next weekend.

SATURDAY  MAY 6, 2017  5:57 A.M.

Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there is some drizzle or light rain in parts of the area. Temperatures are mild, ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area, to the mid 50s further inland; winds are light southeasterly.  Yesterday we picked up 1.48 inches of rain in Clifton with considerable more just to our south and east, as both Newark and Central  Park recorded around 3 inches of rainfall.

A deep low pressure now over Pennsylvania will slowly move to the north into Eastern Canada by tonight; we should still have considerable cloudiness with some showers likely especially this afternoon; temperatures will only rise a few degrees from our early morning lows.

Sunday will be cooler with mostly cloudy skies and a low chance of a shower.

Next week will be cooler than average with a chance of showers on Monday and again on Wednesday.

It is cloudy over the area early on this Friday morning and there is some light rain or drizzle falling in some places. Temperatures range from around 50 in the Clifton area to the low 40s further inland, winds are from the east around 5-10 mph.

A low pressure area will be moving from Kentucky up into the Great Lakes as a warm front approaches from the south. This will cause rain &  it appears the heaviest rainfall will be between 11 a.m and 4 p.m.; some light rain or drizzle will continue into tonight.  Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are likely.

The weekend weather will be seasonably cool with mostly cloudy skies, there is a chance of light showers especially on Saturday.

Mostly cloudy and cool weather will continue into next week as an upper level low will be nearly stationary over our area.

THURSDAY  MAY 4, 2017  5:52 A.M.

Our area has mostly clear conditions early on this Thursday morning and with the clear skies and light winds there is a wide range of temperatures ranging from the mid 40s in the Clifton area down to the low 30s with some frost in some areas of northwest New Jersey.

High pressure will be moving off the coast today and we should see an increase in clouds by this afternoon as a storm system over the Tennessee Valley moves toward our area, rain from this system should hold off until after midnight.

The low pressure system will move into our area on Friday causing rain heavy at times with possibly some thunderstorms, rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are expected.

The service low pressure will move away on Saturday but an upper low will be in our area for the weekend giving us cool conditions with possible showers but most of the time it will be dry.

Cool and mainly dry weather Monday through Wednesday of next week.
