Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning with some light rain falling in parts of the area. Temperatures are still unseasonably mild with readings ranging from the mid 60s in Clifton down to the mid 50s further inland. Winds are mainly calm and the humidity is high.

A cold front will move to our south and east this morning bringing in cooler air. A wave on the front will cause mainly light rain today, temperatures in the 60s this morning will fall to the low 50s by sunset. There may be a lull in the precipitation this evening but light rain is expected to redevelop late tonight.

The wave of low pressure will likely give our area some light rain Friday morning followed by slow clearing by late in the day, temperatures will be seasonably cool.

Mainly dry and cool weather for the weekend but another trough of low pressure may give us some more rain Sunday night.

Dry weather is then expected Monday through Wednesday. Temperatures will be near seasonable on Monday but drop to below normal readings Tuesday and Wednesday with most highs only in the 40s, which will feel quite chilly after this remarkable November stretch of unseasonably warm weather.

Skies have become cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and it is unseasonably mild with temperatures ranging from the low 60s in Clifton down to the low 50s further inland, these readings are nearly 25 degrees above normal.

One more day of remarkable warmth from a southerly flow of high pressure offshore. It will also be unseasonably humid with dew points rising to the mid 60s. A slow moving cold front is approaching from the west which will cause showers mainly after 3 p.m., and become moderate to heavy at times.

The front will cross the area after midnight tonight and tomorrow will be cooler. A wave of low pressure along the front to our south will cause rain much of the day through Friday morning.

Saturday looks to be dry but another trough of low pressure will give us a chance of showers on Sunday, temperatures will be near normal.

Still a chance of showers on Monday followed by clearing on Tuesday. Temperatures the rest of next week may actually be below normal.

Another record high temperature is likely today, but it should be a little cooler than yesterday, although the humidity will be rising this afternoon as the strong high pressure moves offshore.

Warm and muggy on Wednesday with rain developing as a slow moving cold front approaches from the west. Rain should develop in the afternoon and become heavy at times through Wednesday night.

The cold front will cross the area early on Thursday morning but a wave on the front will cause showers most of the day. It will be cooler with highs in the 60s dropping to the 50s by sunset.

Dry with near seasonable temperatures Friday into the day on Saturday.

Another low pressure trough will give us a chance of more showers Saturday night through Monday. Temperatures will remain near normal.

Skies are clear on this Monday morning except for some patchy fog in some areas. Temperatures again are quite variable, here at my station it’s 51 but it is down to 43 at Clifton high school. And further inland once again higher elevations were much warmer than the inland valleys with a temperature of 63 at Vernon and only 30 degrees at Walpack.

Yesterday’s high of 77 was the 4th straight day of 70 degree plus temperatures which was the longest such streak ever recorded at my station in November, and it looks likely that we will have 2 or 3 more days in the 70s. High pressure ridge will continue to dominate our weather today, giving our area mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures with record highs likely.

Tuesday will continue to be warm and more clouds may hold high temperatures down a couple of degrees but the humidity will slightly rise.

A frontal system moving into our area will give us rain Wednesday into Thursday with 1-2 inches of rainfall likely most of the heaviest rain will fall Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Wednesday will be warm and humid as dew points rise to the mid 60s. Not as warm or humid on Thursday as the front will move to our south and east.

Dry weather with more normal temperatures Friday into the day on Saturday, but another frontal system may give us showers Saturday night into Sunday.

With clear skies and nearly calm winds there is a huge difference in temperatures , with higher elevations warmer than the inland valleys. At 5 a.m. this morning, here at my station which is up on the hill in Clifton, the temperature is 55, while the station at Clifton high school at a lower elevation is only 46. Also the temperature at Vernon on a hill is 60 while in the inland valley at Walpack is only 31.

Note: Last year on this date the high was only 38 and the low was a chilly 27.

The strong high pressure area along the east coast will continue to give us unseasonably warm weather today through Tuesday with highs well up into the 70s each day with some more records highs likely. Skies will be also be mostly sunny.

A slow moving cold front will approach the area on Wednesday that will produce rain possibly heavy at times ending Thursday morning. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are expected as some tropical moisture moves into our area.

Dry and cooler weather is expected Thursday afternoon through at least the beginning of next weekend.
