Skies have become mostly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures once again are quite bitter with readings ranging from the mid teens in the Clifton area dropping to near zero in some of the inland areas, winds are mainly calm.

Today we will have a cloudy day and most areas will remain dry, temperatures will slowly rise to above freezing by late this afternoon, strong high pressure is off the coast and a southerly flow of the milder air will develop.   Tonight rain is likely possibly beginning as a wintery mix mainly inland, temperatures will continue to slowly rise to near 40 by daybreak on Wednesday, it also will become quite windy with southerly winds gusting to 35 mph.

Rain should end by mid morning on Wednesday and we may see some sun in the afternoon with seasonably mild temperatures, however more showers are likely Wednesday night.

A low chance of showers on Thursday but it will become unseasonably mild with high temperatures well up into the 50s to around 60.

A cold front should come through dry on Friday.

Colder over the weekend as a cold high pressure area builds from the north meanwhile moisture from the south may give us some light snow Saturday night into Sunday.

The cold air will not last too long as above normal temperatures are expected most of next week.

With clear skies and light winds and a fresh snowpack temperatures have fallen to their lowest levels of the season so far with single digits in the Clifton area and close to zero further inland, in fact parts of central and southern parts of New Jersey where there is more snow cover some temperatures are below zero.

Today will be the last frigid day of this week as temperatures remain well below freezing, however winds will be lighter as a strong high pressure moves slowly offshore.

Tuesday will start off dry but a low pressure system approaching from the west will cause precipitation to develop by evening, this precipitation will be mostly rain as temperatures rise above freezing but may start as a period of snow, sleet and freezing rain especially inland.

Much milder on Wednesday with temperature reaching the 50 degree mark, the rain should end by daybreak.

Quite mild and mainly dry Thursday and Friday.

A cold front will move through by Friday evening bringing cooler weather for next weekend and with low pressure developing to our south may cause some overrunning precipitation that depending on temperatures may give us some icy conditions mainly Saturday night into Sunday morning.

After yesterday’s snow, temperatures this morning have fallen to the mid teens in the Clifton area to the single digits in some inland areas and with northwest wind to 10 mph makes it feel even colder.

Yesterday here in Clifton we picked up 4″ of snow, less snow fell across northwest New Jersey where only  1 or 2″ accumulated while parts of southern part of the state received 10″.

Today will be a dry day and despite partly sunny skies temperatures will only reach the low to mid 20s. There will be a slight chance of flurries inland.   Tonight with clear skies and light winds we will have low temperatures in the single digits in most of the area.

A low pressure will approach the area on Tuesday, a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain should occur before changing to all rain Tuesday night as warmer air moves in.

Mild Wednesday through Friday but with a few chances of light rain or showers.

Cooler next weekend but temperatures should still remain above normal..

Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from the low 20s in Clifton to the mid teens further inland.

The low pressure that we have been tracking will move well off the coast but will likely give us snow this afternoon which will end this evening, in the Clifton area expect a 1-3 inch accumulation but much more across southern New Jersey and Long Island with only flurries across northwest sections of New Jersey.  Temperatures will be quite cold with highs only in the 20s so the snow will be light and fluffy.

Very cold Arctic air will be with us tomorrow and on Monday and highs will again be only in the 20s with overnight lows well down in the teens.

A moderating trend will start on Tuesday but we should likely see some rain late Tuesday night into Wednesday, the rain may begin as a mix of freezing rain and sleet inland.

Mild air will continue at the end of next week with a chance of rain Thursday and Friday.

Light snow is ending across the area early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from the mid-upper 20s, winds are light, about an inch of snow accumulated here in Clifton.

The low pressure that brought the light snow is moving offshore and a weak high will give us clearing during the day it will be chilly with highs in the 30s.

Computer models now have the second wave of low pressure to be closer to the coast than was indicated yesterday so the chances of snow have increased for Saturday, it is possible that we may pick up a couple of inches of accumulation with much more across Long Island and southern New Jersey with much less as you head further inland, regardless if it snows or not it still will be very cold with highs only in the 20s.

Cold Arctic high pressure will be in control of our weather for Sunday and Monday with dry conditions over the area, highs will be mainly in the 20s with overnight lows in the lower teens.

Not as cold on Tuesday but another low pressure system will likely give us precipitation Tuesday night into Wednesday mainly in the form of rain as warmer air moves into the area but may start as a wintery mix.

A pattern switch will cause much above normal temperatures for an extended period starting on Wednesday and may last through January 20th with many highs in the upper 40s to the 50s each day.
