Rain to move into the area by noontime! Much colder with snow chances increasing for the end of this week!


Skies are cloudy in the Clifton area with temperatures in the upper 30s ranging to the upper 20s further inland..

Rain will develop later this morning and last throughout the evening, temperatures will be in the 40s so all the precipitation will be in the form of plain rain. Rain will total around 1 inch.

Clearing for Monday and it will be colder as the day goes on with temperatures around 40 in the morning dropping to the upper 20s by sunset.

Dry and cold for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Much colder Thursday and Friday.  Watching for a potential coastal storm that could give us snow, too early for any details until the computer models come in better agreement, we should have a better handle of the situation by tomorrow.

Early this morning we have clear skies and light winds, temperatures are in the upper 20s in the Clifton area ranging to some teens further inland.

Today we will have sunny skies and mild temperatures with most high temperatures reaching the 50 degree mark.

A storm moving up from the Gulf states will cause rain to develop around noon on Sunday and continue into the evening, about an inch of rain is expected. Further inland the precipitation may start and end briefly as some snow but with not much cold air in the area this storm will be mainly a rain event.

Clearing on Monday with high temperature around 40 degrees but dropping in the afternoon

Much colder Tuesday through Friday and some computer models are hinting at a possible snowstorm at the end of next week.

Tonight – Mostly clear, low in the low 30s.

Sunday – Rain developing by noon and continuing into the evening, rain may start as a mix of snow and rain especially inland.. high in the mid 40s.

Monday – Clearing, morning high near 40 dropping to the 30s in the afternoon.

Tuesday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 30s.

New Year’s Day – Partly sunny, high around 30.

Thursday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow, high around 30.

Temperatures as of 6am range from the mid 20s in the Clifton area to the upper teens further inland, skies are clear and winds are light.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine with temperatures a few degrees warmer than on Thursday reaching the low 40s.

More sunny skies can be expected on Saturday with milder temperatures, highs will be in the upper 40s.

A storm will be moving up the coast on Sunday with rain developing around noon and continue into the evening.

Skies clear on Monday.

Much colder weather Tuesday through the end of next week and at this time it appears that most of this period will be dry.

Not as cold for the day after Christmas with a slight chance of light snow!


Temperatures this morning are nearly 10 degrees higher than this time yesterday ranging from the mid 20s in the Clifton area to some teens further inland, skies are mostly cloudy.

Today there is a slight chance of snow from late this morning to the early part of the afternoon with a possible coating in our northwest suburbs. Skies will clear later in the day and temperatures will reach the 40 degree mark.

Expect dry weather for Friday and Saturday with moderating temperatures.

It now appears that a low pressure will develop and move up the coast on Sunday giving us mostly just plain rain possibly starting as snow on Sunday morning before quickly changing over to rain.

Monday we will dry out with seasonably temperatures.

Colder weather moves in on Tuesday and last most of next week.

Very cold Christmas Day!


Merry Christmas!!!

An Arctic cold front came through last evening accompanied by a very brief but heavy snow squall, here in Clifton we only got a dusting but some areas received a quick inch of snow.  Much colder air moved into the area following the front.  Most readings early this morning are in the teens.

During the day today will have some increasing cloudiness and it will remain quite cold but with diminishing winds, temperatures will remain mainly in the 20s.

Milder on Thursday will only a slight chance of rain or snow showers.

Dry weather will continue on Friday through the weekend with a moderating temperature trend.

Colder again next week with a possible winter storm at the end of the week.
