A strong high pressure extends from Ontario to our area and should give us more sunshine with seasonably cold temperatures today.

Another sunny day on Wednesday but low pressure off the New England coast will produce more winds than today, temperatures will continue to be chilly.

A coastal storm is expected to give us mainly rain Thursday afternoon through Friday night, some of the precipitation may start of as a wintery mix across inland areas, winds will become gusty.

The weekend weather looks to be dry but will be chilly.

Note: 62 years ago today our area received nearly two feet of snow, it is the earliest snowstorm I remember, I especially liked the three days off from school.

The low pressure that gave us our first snow accumulation of the season is moving offshore as high pressure build from eastern Canada. We should see mostly sunny skies by this afternoon but it will be chilly with highs struggling to reach the 40 degree mark.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly sunny skies both days but it will stay seasonably cold.

A coastal storm is expected to give us precipitation Thursday afternoon through Friday evening. Most of the precipitation will be in the form of rain but may start off as a wintery mix especially further inland.

An area of low pressure will move into our area today with some rain and snow. The precipitation should start off as snow later this morning and quickly change to rain this afternoon but then back to snow before ending early Monday morning. Accumulations in the Clifton area should be less than an inch but up to 3-5 inches across the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey and the Hudson Valley where a winter weather advisory is in effect.

High pressure then will dominate our weather Monday through Wednesday along with seasonably cold temperatures.

Another stronger low pressure system is expected to give us precipitation Thursday into Friday. At this time it appears most of the precipitation will fall as rain but may begin and end with some snow. Winds will become gusty.

Next weekend looks to be dry and again seasonably cold.

High pressure to our north will give us a northeast flow of chilly air today with highs only in the low 40s despite plenty of sunshine.

An area of low pressure will cause precipitation mainly from late Sunday morning through early Monday morning. In the Clifton area the precipitation will begin as a mixture of rain or snow, changing to rain in the afternoon and then changing to snow before ending early Monday morning. Possible accumulations in Clifton should be just a dusting but 1-3 inches of snow is possible over the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey and across the northern parts of the Hudson Valley.

Monday through Wednesday will be mainly dry with seasonably cold temperatures.

Another storm system will give us a good chance of rain or snow Thursday into Friday.

High pressure building from north of the Great Lakes to our area will give us a cool northerly flow. Highs today will only be in the 40s despite plenty of sunshine.

A weak low pressure system is expected to give us mainly rain from late Sunday morning through Sunday evening, however some of the rain will be mixed with snow. Further inland across northwest New Jersey and the lower Hudson Valley may pick up an inch or two of snowfall.

High pressure will then give us dry but seasonably cool conditions Monday through the day on Wednesday.

A stronger low pressure system will give us a chance of rain or snow Wednesday night into Thursday.
