A weak disturbance along a front to our south will cause showers and a chance of a thunderstorm. With an onshore flow and considerable cloudiness, temperatures will be below normal with most highs only in the upper 70s.

After a chance of an early morning shower on Saturday we should see some breaks in the clouds and it will become seasonably warm.

Sunday looks to be the best day of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and temperatures slightly above normal.

Quite warm to hot weather much of next week as a high pressure ridge offshore give us a southwest flow. Monday should be dry but there will be a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers Tuesday through the end of next week.

High pressure to our north will give us a dry day today but we should see an increase in clouds this afternoon as a weak front will be to our south. Temperatures will be cooler than yesterday due to a light onshore flow and more cloudiness.

A weak low pressure area along the front to our south will likely cause some showers late tonight into Friday, temperatures will continue to be slightly below normal.

Dry weather is expected this weekend, temperatures will be near seasonable on Saturday and warm to slightly above normal levels on Sunday.

Warmer and more humid weather is expected Monday through at least the middle of next week with a chance of afternoon and evening showers both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Yesterday Tropical storm Isaias moved about 50 miles west of Clifton giving our area 1.59″ of rain while western parts of New Jersey received 4-6 inches. Winds were very strong in our area causing widespread power outages. My station recorded a 42.5 mph gust which was the highest wind speed since Hurricane Sandy, although since the station has many trees I estimate the winds actually gusted to 50-55 mph here.

Today will be a much quieter weather day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures slightly above normal. The humidity will be a little high this morning but drop by mid day.

Tomorrow again will be sunny but temperatures will be a little cooler as we will have more of an onshore wind.

There will be a chance of some showers Thursday night into Friday as a weak trough moves into the area.

The weekend should be dry with temperatures a little above seasonably levels.

At this time early next weeks looks to be quite warm with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms both Monday and Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Isaias expected to track just to our west today! Tropical downpours along with damaging winds and even a chance of small tornadoes this afternoon and early evening! Much quieter weather tomorrow through the weekend!

Isaias came ashore near the North and South Carolina border late last night as a 85 mph hurricane, now it has weakened slightly to a strong tropical storm with top winds of 70 mph as it is now located near the North Carolina and Virginia border. Isaias is expected to track just to our west today putting our region in the dangerous eastern section of the storm. Most of the flooding rains will be over western parts of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania although we will still have occasional tropical downpours. Our area will likely have damaging winds and even a chance of some small tornadoes. The worst part of the storm will be between late this morning into early this evening. Rainfall in our area will be around 1-3 inches with 4-6″ to our west. Winds will gust to near hurricane force at times which will cause considerable damage to trees and power lines. Winds and rain will diminish by late tonight.

Wednesday will be a nice summer day with seasonably warm temperatures and moderate humidity along with mostly sunny skies.

Most of the rest of this week into the weekend will be seasonably warm with moderate humidity. There is a low chance of some afternoon and evening showers Friday and Saturday.

Today will be another hot day but with lower humidity than yesterday as dew points that were in the mid to upper 70s yesterday will only be in the mid 60s today. There is a chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

Tropical Storm Isaias now off the coast of Florida will move north and possibly become a hurricane before coming onshore near the border of North and South Carolina. The storm will then ride up the coast into our area on Tuesday. Rain possibly heavy at times late tonight in advance of the storm but the heaviest rain is expected Tuesday morning through the evening with 3-5 inches of rain expected with higher amounts possible. Also strong winds are expected late Tuesday afternoon with gusts over 50 mph. A tropical storm watch along with a flash flood watch is in effect.

As Isaias pulls away on Wednesday we should see some clearing after a chance of a morning shower.

Mainly dry weather Thursday through next weekend with seasonably warm temperatures and moderate humidity levels.
