Showers have moved into the area early this morning, temperatures are mild ranging from 60 degrees in the Clifton area to the upper 50s inland, winds are from the southeast.

A frontal system will move through the area today with showers ending early this afternoon, expect about 1/2 inch of well needed rainfall.  Temperatures will be mild with highs reaching the 70s later this afternoon.  Clearing skies by late this afternoon.

Much cooler tonight with temperatures dropping to the mid 40s in the Clifton area to the 30s further inland.

Sunday will be a sunny and rather cool day with most highs only reaching the low 60s.

Chilly on Sunday night with some frost possible well inland..

Milder during the day on Monday with plenty of sunshine.

A weaker frontal system will move into the area on Tuesday with light showers possible during the day extending into Wednesday morning.

Clearing later Wednesday afternoon with dry conditions and seasonably mild temperatures through the end of the week.

Skies have finally cleared out early this morning and temperatures have fallen to the low 50s in the Clifton area to the upper 40s inland, winds are light.

Today we will have a mostly sunny day with near normal temperatures, topping off around the 70 degree mark.

A strong cold front will cause rain to develop around daybreak on Saturday and continue into the afternoon, around 2/3 to 1 inch of precipitation is expected.

Cool and breezy Sunday with sunshine returning.

Milder on Monday with sunny skies.

A weaker cold front will move into the area on Tuesday with some light showers possible Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Fair weather returns for Thursday with near normal temperatures.

Cloudy again early this morning with most temperatures in the area are in the upper 50s, humidity remains high and the winds are light.

Another mainly cloudy and humid day is on tap today, we may have more breaks in the clouds especially inland late in the day, temperatures will be a little higher than on Wednesday rising to near 70, if more breaks occur temperatures may rise into the low 70s.

Clearing and cool tonight and Friday will be mostly sunny and pleasant.

A cold front will cross the area on Saturday with well needed rain,  amounts will range from around 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.  The rain may persist into the evening followed by clearing and cooler weather later at night.

A quite cool and breezy Sunday and despite sunshine temperatures will only rise to the low to mid 60s and with the wind it will feel even cooler.

Sunshine on Monday with milder temperatures.

A weak disturbance moving in from the west give us a chance of light rain on Tuesday followed by partly sunny skies on Wednesday, temperatures will be slightly above normal.

CLIMATE – September 2014 ended up just under 2 degrees above normal,  only 1.17″ of rain fell during the month making this the driest September since I started my records in 1973.

Cloudy with only a chance of light showers to start off October! Beneficial rain on Saturday!


Skies are cloudy early this morning and temperatures are around 60 in the Clifton area to the mid 50s further inland, humidity is on the high side and the winds are light.

No rain fell on the last day of September here in Clifton and the month of September only had 1.14″ of precipitation making this the driest September in Clifton since I started records in 1973.

Today it will remain cloudy with high temperatures near normal for the first day of October rising to around 70 degrees.  Only a low chance of a scattered shower or two mostly this morning.

Dry and rather pleasant weather Thursday and Friday.

A strong front will move into the area on Saturday with rain with about an inch of beneficial rain is expected.

Much cooler on Sunday and despite mostly sunny skies temperatures will only rise to the mid 60s and with a brisk wind it will feel like fall.

A weak disturbance will give us a chance of light rain on Monday followed by clearing on Tuesday with near normal temperatures both days.

At daybreak this morning we have mostly cloudy skies, temperatures are mild with readings ranging from the low 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light, some inland areas have patchy dense fog.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day with a chance of some light showers today and tonight, temperatures will continue to be above normal with highs in the mid to some upper 70s.  Note:  So far this September we only recorded 1.17″ of precipitation, if we get less than .14″ today it will make this September the driest September since I began records in 1973, the record now is 1.31″ set in 1984.

Cloudy skies with a chance of showers on Wednesday with temperatures a couple of degrees lower than today.

Dry weather with seasonably mild temperatures Thursday and most of Friday.

A frontal system will give us a better chance of rain showers Friday night into Saturday.

Much cooler on Sunday despite plenty of sunshine with highs only reaching the mid 60s.

Indications are that the cooler weather will be short lived with a return to above normal temperatures next week.
