Nearly perfect weather as we head into summer!


High pressure over our area this morning is providing clear skies and calm winds which is helping to produce some record low temperatures with early morning lows in the low 50s in the Clifton area to some upper 40s inland.
Today will feature sunny skies with even less clouds than yesterday so if you spend time in the sun make sure you put on the sunscreen. High temperatures will be near 80 degrees.
Summer begins at 1:04am tomorrow morning and we still will have clear skies with temperatures a couple of degrees higher than today, humidity will stay on the low side.
A very nice first weekend of summer but temperatures and humidity levels will increase, however we should stay rain free.
Warm to hot weather with rather high humidity will dominate our weather early next week with plenty of sunshine, chances of widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will increase but most areas will stay dry.

Sunny day, sweeping the clouds away!


The cold front that helped produce some heavy rain in thunderstorms yesterday has moved offshore, cooler and much drier air has followed the front and after some cloudiness early this morning it will become sunny with high temperatures around 80.
After having nearly 13 inches of rain since May 8th it appears that we will enjoy several days of dry weather. with the next chance of rain will be early next week and that will be only with some scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
High temperatures will slowly rise as we head into this weekend and this summer type pattern will extend into next week.

At daybreak this morning we have partly cloudy skies, overnight lows were in the low-mid 60s in the Clifton area to the upper 50s inland..
A cold front approaching from the northwest will cause clouds to increase as the day goes on with showers likely this afternoon and evening along with a chance of a couple of strong thunderstorms.
High temperatures will be a few degrees lower than yesterday topping out in the lower 80s, it will be moderately humid..
Clearing on Wednesday and it will be cooler and less humid.
Excellent weather for Thursday and Friday with plenty of sunshine and with seasonably warm temperatures.
A warming trend starting this weekend and extending to at least the early part of next week, it will also become more humid with shower chances increasing for Sunday and next Monday.

A mild start to the day as overnight lows dropped only to the mid 60s in the Clifton area to the upper 50s inland. Today will feature plenty of sunshine with warm temperatures reaching the upper 80s. A chance of a thunderstorm this evening but most areas will remain dry.
More clouds on Tuesday and Tuesday night with chance of showers and thunderstorms as a weak cold front slowly moves through the area..
Cooler weather on Wednesday as high pressure builds in from the northwest, we should have mostly sunny skies but southern New Jersey may have more clouds as the cold front will be only slowly sagging southward.
Very nice weather for Thursday and Friday with near normal temperatures.
The latest computer models show a more summer pattern starting on the weekend and extending into at least early next week with quite warm temperatures and increased humidity.but at this time rain chances will be low.

More clouds and a chance of showers but mainly a dry Father’s Day!


Yesterday’s weather was a nice break from all the rain the past few weeks with plenty of sunshine, low humidity and temperatures ranging from 82 degrees in Clifton to a high of 78 degrees on Schooley’s Mountain where I enjoyed a nice party for my two year old grandson Tobin!
Today we will have more clouds and a little more humidity, there is a chance of afternoon and evening showers but most of the day with be dry with temperatures similar to yesterday’s.
As we head into the work week, there will be chances of showers and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday with Monday being rather warm with temperatures reaching the upper 80s in some spots.
Drier air with seasonably warm temperatures from Wednesday into early next weekend.

Gorgeous start to the weekend; Father’s Day not too shabby either!


With plenty of sunshine today temperatures will warm into the 80s with low humidity as high pressure is building into our area.
Most of Father’s Day will be dry but there is a chance of an afternoon and evening shower or thunderstorm, it will be continued to be warm with highs in the 80s.
A warm start to the work week with temperatures well up into the 80s on Monday with still a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.
A better chance of showers on Tuesday as a cold front approaches, these showers may extend to early on Wednesday follow by mostly fair and dry weather for the rest of this upcoming week.

Storm moving away but still a chance of showers; Excellent weather for Saturday!


The storm system that gave us the rain yesterday into early this morning is moving out to sea, my rain gauge in Clifton picked up 1.27″ of precipitation far short than what was predicted which kept flooding at a minimum. Severe weather was confined to the southern part of the state where some wind damage was reported.
For today the steady rain is gone but a weak cold front approaching will cause a chance of light showers but we will see some sun also, temperatures will be cool only reaching the lower 70s.
A beautiful June weather day on Saturday with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures in the low 80s along with low humidity.
The weather for Father’s Day may be a little wetter than first thought as we will have a chance of afternoon and evening showers.
Chances for showers again for Monday and Tuesday.
Drier weather for Wednesday through Friday with near seasonable temperatures.

Heavy rain to affect Northern New Jersey today, flood watches issued! Severe weather likely across Southern New Jersey!


Some light rain has moved into Northern New Jersey this morning and the next few hours will will occasional rain which will be mostly light. The heaviest rain will fall this afternoon and evening as a rather strong low pressure will be moving from Pennsylvania through Central New Jersey. Total rainfall for our area will be around 2 1/2 inches which is lower than was in the forecast yesterday and hopefully that trend will continue to keep flooding at a minimum. South of the low pressure system’s path across Southern New Jersey severe weather is likely with damaging winds, large hail and even a chance of a tornado or two.. High temperatures will only be in the 60s in our area but well up into the 80s across the southern part of our state.
On Friday the storm will move offshore, the morning hours could be quite windy but these winds will diminish as the day goes on, there is still a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm but no widespread rains as today.
Excellent weather for most of the weekend with seasonably warm temperatures and comfortable humidity levels, however some showers may develop Sunday evening.
More showers again on Monday and Tuesday.

With plenty of sunshine today we will warm up into the 80s although it will be a little breezy.
A very interesting weather situation for Thursday as a rather strong storm for this time of year will be moving from the Midwest today into central New Jersey tomorrow. Heavy flooding rains in the Northern New Jersey area is likely starting tomorrow morning and continue into the early morning hours of Friday, 1-3 inches of rain with higher amounts possible. South of the track of the low across Central and Southern New Jersey there is a good chance of severe weather with strong damaging winds, large hail and even a chance of a tornado or two.
Conditions improve on Friday but it will be a quite windy day.
Beautiful weather on Saturday and a good portion of Father’s Day although rain chance increase late in the day on Sunday.

The steady rain that fell in our area has moved to our northeast after dropping around 1 inch of rainfall in the Clifton area but up to 2″ in some areas especially across Monmouth and Ocean counties.
We are starting off with mostly cloudy skies this morning with temperatures in the low-mid 60s. During the day we will have a little more sunshine with warmer temperatures reaching 80 degrees, however there is still a chance of a shower or thunderstorm but no widespread rain as we had yesterday..
Wednesday will be dry with seasonably warm temperatures.
Still another disturbance will cause more rain on Thursday that may extend into Friday morning.
High pressure will build into our area later Friday with clearing skies.
Excellent weather for the weekend with plenty of sunshine with seasonably mild temperatures.
