One more hot and humid day today with possible showers! Much less humid air moves in by Sunday afternoon!


Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy across the area early on this Saturday morning and tempertures range from the low 70s in the Clifton area to the upper 60s further inland, winds are nearly calm and it continues to be muggy.

Today may be the last 90 degree day of the year as high pressure moves off the coast and a cold front approaches from the west, hot and humid air will continue along with partly sunny skies.  The front may cause some shower activity this afternoon but most of the showers will hold off until tonight.

The front will come through tomorrow morning with a continued chance of showers followed by clearing, it still will be warm but become much less humid in the afternoon.

Pleasant weather Monday and Tuesday with near seasonable temperatures.

Another cold front may touch off some showers on Wednesday followed by even cooler weather for the end of the week with temperatures actually below normal which we have not seen much over the last several weeks.  No widespread precipitation is expected through the end of the week as our dry pattern continues..

AUGUST AND SUMMER RECAP:

August temperatures averaged around 4 degrees above normal which tied for second as the warmest August since 1973;  Precipitation was below normal with only 2.43″  The hottest day was on the 13th when the temperature reached 98 degrees, the lowest was on the 23rd when the temperature dropped to 55 degrees.

The 3 summer months were also well above normal, nearly averaging 3 degrees above average making this the third hottest summer since 1973 with only 2005 and 2010 being warmer.  Precipitation was also below normal with 11.71 inches falling.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Friday morning and we are having one of the warmest early morning temperatures of the summer, ranging from a sultry 80 here in Clifton to the low 70s further inland, the humidity is high and the winds light.

A weak front will be in our area today giving us a mix of clouds and sun, temperatures will approach record levels with highs in the 90s and along with dew points around 70 will make today another uncomfortable day.  There is a low chance of showers today but most places will remain dry.

Hot and humid again on Saturday with again a low chance of showers in the afternoon and evening as a stronger cold front approaches the area.

After some possible morning showers on Sunday it will become much less humid in the afternoon with highs in the 80s.

More seasonable temperatures early next week with pleasant humidity.  Another cold front should cross the area on Wednesday followed by much cooler and drier air for the end of the week with some temperatures falling to their lowest levels since last spring.

Today will be a hot and humid day as high pressure builds into the area, temperatures will reach the low 90s and with dew points around 70 it will be an uncomfortable weather day.  A weak cold front will cross the area tonight possibly touching off a shower or thunderstorm.

Hot again on Friday with a mix of clouds and sun it will be just a little less humid.

A stronger cold front will cross the area on Saturday with another low chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and night.

Sunday through Wednesday should be mainly dry with temperatures a little above normal for this time of year along with comfortable humidity.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from around 70 in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, there is a northerly breeze and it is rather muggy.

As Hermine weakens today we should have high pressure move into the area, with more sunshine temperatures will be warmer and it will be on the humid side.

Hot and humid on Thursday with partly sunny skies, there is a chance of a thunderstorm after midnight as a weak front moves through the area.

Continued hot and humid Friday and Saturday, another stronger front will give us a low chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Cooler and much less humid Sunday afternoon through early next week with no precipitation expected.

Breezy and warm with some showers possible as Hermine comes closer to the coast but weakens! Heat wave Thursday through Saturday!


Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and it is warmer than the last couple of mornings with temperatures ranging from the low 70s here in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, winds are from the north with some gusts near 20 mph.

Post Tropical Storm Hermine has been moving west closer to the coast today but will be weakening, we should see an increase in clouds today and it will be seasonably warm and become more humid, there is a low chance of a shower late today into this evening with the best chance of rain along the coast.  Winds will gust to near 30 mph today, higher along the coast and less inland.

Hermine will weaken further on Wednesday but we should see mostly cloudy skies with slightly warmer temperatures.

A possible three day heatwave Thursday through Saturday with temperatures all three days around or just above 90, it will be humid with dew points rising the upper 60s.

A cold front will cross the area around Saturday evening with a low chance of a shower, the front will be followed by somewhat cooler and drier air for Sunday into early next week.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Labor Day morning and temperatures range from the low 60s here in Clifton to the low 50s further inland, there is a light northerly wind and the humidity remains low.

Today we should see a mix of clouds and sun as Post-Tropical Storm Hermine moves slightly westward toward our coast, skies should be mostly sunny inland but mostly cloudy along coastal areas, temperatures should reach the low 80s with comfortable humidity.

Hermine will be just off the coast on Tuesday giving us some clouds especially over coastal areas, winds will be a little breezy, temperatures will be a little warmer and it will also become more humid.

Quite warm to hot weather is expected Wednesday through the weekend , it will be mainly dry but a weak cold front moving through the area on Saturday may touch off a shower.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area to near 50 further inland, winds are light and the humidity is low.

Post tropical storm Hermine is now a couple of hundred of miles east of our coast but is expected to turn back to the coast later today, however it seems that the storm will not be close enough to cause problems especially in our area and further inland, however the coast may still have some strong winds and possibly moderate to severe coastal flooding.  Yesterday it appeared our area would have winds over 50 mph in our area but now we are only anticipating peak gust in the upper 20s.  Today will be dry and mainly partly sunny with high temperatures similar to what was recorded yesterday in the upper 70s.

We should see more clouds on Labor Day with only a low chance of some light rain during the day, high temperatures will again be in the 70s.

As the storm moves away look for warmer temperatures on Tuesday with warm to hot temperatures Wednesday through Saturday, the only rain anticipated would be on Saturday as a weak cold front approaches the area.

High clouds will increase today as Tropical Storm Hermine moves off the Carolina coast, we should remain dry today with most high temperatures in the 70s.

Hermine is expected to move north and then stall off the New Jersey coast and may influence our weather through the middle of the week.  Rain from the storm may hold off until Sunday night and continue through Labor Day, not much heavy rain is anticipated in our area but winds will pick up and reach tropical storm strength tomorrow night and last through Tuesday with gusts up to 50 mph possible which can cause power outages, less wind inland but higher winds are expected over coastal areas.  Major coastal flooding is likely along with beach erosion and strong rip currents.

The storm will finally move out of the area by Wednesday with warm to hot weather expected for late this week into next weekend.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s further inland, humidity levels are low and there is a light northerly wind.

Today we will enjoy very pleasant early September weather with plenty of sunshine, seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

Tomorrow should be the best weather day of the weekend with continued dry conditions and comfortable humidity, some clouds may increase by evening from the south as Hermine moves up the coast, temperatures will be slightly lower than today with highs in the 70s.

The weather on Sunday and on Labor Day will depend on the future track of Tropical Storm Hermine as the storm is expected to stall just off the Delmarva coast, it appears right now the coastal sections will have the greater impact from the storm with strong winds and possibly major coastal flooding.  Further inland should see some rain and wind but the storm should be far enough offshore to give us heavy rain or strong winds.

The storm is expected to only slowly move offshore next week but we should see a return of sunshine and well above normal temperatures.

Cooler with some showers today! Tropical storm Hermine may affect our weather over the holiday weekend!


Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and there are some light showers in parts of the area, temperatures range from around 70 in the Clifton area to the mid 60s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

A cold front will cross the area today giving us some showers mainly this morning it will be cloudy and cooler.

Pleasant weather for Friday and Saturday with temperatures at or slightly below normal.

Watching the path of Tropical Storm Hermine, latest computer models has the storm just off our coast, as of now it appears rain and wind will affect mostly the eastern areas of our area, however a shift in the path to the west would give our entire area heavy rain and strong gusty winds on Sunday.

Some clearing on Labor Day with seasonable temperatures.

Warming trend next week with some highs again approaching the 90 degree mark.
