Skies have become cloudy this morning and temperatures are in the upper teens in the Clifton area with near 10 in the colder suburbs, winds are light.

Today we will have cloudy skies with temperatures a few degrees higher than on Saturday and with light winds it will feel more comfortable.  Light snow or flurries may develop by late this afternoon.

Snow will become heavier late tonight and we should have around 4-8 inches of new snow on the ground by daybreak on Monday.  The snow should mix with sleet and freezing rain during the day on Monday changing back to snow before ending Monday evening, total accumulation will range from 6-10 inches with more accumulation to our north and much less accumulation across Central and Southern New Jersey where the will be more plain rain falling.

Much colder air will move in behind the storm with temperatures dropping to the low teens by Tuesday morning so any slush that is on the ground will freeze.

Dry and very cold on Tuesday..

Not as cold on Wednesday but a cold front moving through will give us a low chance of some snow showers Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Dry and very cold on Friday with slight moderation in temperatures next weekend.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Cloudy with a chance of very light snow developing this afternoon, high in the mid 30s.

TONIGHT – Snow becoming moderate to heavy at times, low in the mid 20s, accumulations of  4-8 inches likely by Monday morning.

MONDAY – Snow, sleet and freezing rain changing to all snow before ending in the evening,  2 more inches of frozen accumulations expected, high in the low 30s in the morning dropping to the 20s by sunset.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny and very cold, high in the mid 20s.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly cloudy, not as cold, high in the mid 30s, chance of snow showers at night.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of morning snow showers, high in the upper 20s.

We have clear skies at 6am in the Clifton area and temperatures have fallen to 10 degrees, inland readings are in the single digits and with winds gusting to 30 mph is bringing wind chills to well below zero so bundle up.

Today will continue have very cold and windy conditions with highs only a few degrees above the 20 degree mark and with the winds it again will make it feel much colder.  Diminishing winds by this evening and overnight lows will be about 5-10 higher than this morning’s low.

Skies will become cloudy on Sunday and it will be noticeably less cold and windy with highs in the 30s.

A storm system will move from the southeast states to off our coast on Monday, snow should start in our area in the late evening on Sunday and continue on Monday, the precipitation may mix with sleet and freezing rain during the day Monday before changing back to all snow which will end by evening, accumulations of 8-12 inches can be expected, the lower amounts will happen if we have more of a mix.

After the storm’s passage it will become very cold with temperatures on Tuesday morning may approach zero with daytime highs only in the low 20s.

Not as cold on Wednesday and it will be dry, however we do have a low chance of some more light snow Wednesday night into Thursday as a cold front moves through the area.

Fair and again very cold on Friday.

Some very light snow is falling at 6am this morning in the Clifton area, temperatures are milder than yesterday morning with a 30 degree reading in Clifton ranging to the mid 20s in colder inland spots, winds are light, overnight accumulation is about an inch.

This morning we will have periods of light snow or flurries with little or no additional accumulation.  Skies will clear this afternoon but it will become very windy and much colder, late morning highs in the 30s will fall to 20 degrees by late this afternoon and with the winds it will feel that much colder.

Tonight will be bitterly cold with lows by Saturday morning in the single digits and with winds gusting to 40 mph will help bring wind chill values to -10 or lower, a wind advisory along with a wind chill advisory is in effect for our area.

Saturday will be a sunny day but very cold and windy, winds will die down by late in the afternoon.

Dry most of the day on Sunday with a slight moderation in temperature.

Now to the next storm, computer models have become in better agreement and now most are indicating a significant snowstorm for our area starting late Sunday night and continuing on Monday, my first guess in accumulations are in the 6-10 inch range, of course that will probably change as we get closer to the event.

Dry but frigid on Tuesday.

Watching for the potential of another storm for late Wednesday into Thursday.

At 6am this morning the temperature in Clifton is in the low teens, further inland some below zero readings with Walpack, NJ reporting a frigid temperature of -7 degrees, skies are mostly clear and the winds are light.

Today we will have increasing cloudiness, high temperatures will be similar to yesterday.

Light snow will develop late tonight and end Friday morning as a weak clipper system moves through our area. Expect 1-2 inches of accumulation.

The storm will be followed by clearing skies on Friday with rapidly falling temperatures, readings in the low 30s during the late morning will fall to around 20 by sunset and with winds gusting to 35 mph will bring wind chill values below zero.

Saturday will be very cold but we will have plenty of sunshine, early morning temperatures will be in the single digits.

Partly sunny and not as cold on Super Bowl Sunday but a stronger low pressure system is expected to give us a good chance of snow late at night.

The computer models are still not agreeing with how much snow we may get on Monday with the American model showing a possible 6-10 inch snowfall while the European model only indicating an inch or two as it has the storm moving too far south to give us significant snow, so again stay tuned.

Skies are clear at 6am this Wednesday morning and temperatures have fallen to the low teens in the Clifton area to some single digits in some areas of Northwest New Jersey, winds are a little brisk from the northwest making it feel even colder.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine along with breezy conditions, high temperatures will be in the upper 20s.

Most of Thursday will be dry with less wind and high temperatures a couple of degrees higher than today.

A weak low pressure area will move across the area Thursday night into Friday morning that could give us about an inch of snow.  Friday will start out a little milder during the day but temperatures will plummet Friday night along with strong winds.

It will be frigid during Saturday with slowly diminishing winds.

Now to the next storm that will likely affect the area Sunday night into Monday and of course the computer models are again not in agreement with the American model (GFS) indicating snow changing to rain while the European model shows a colder solution with all snow that would be significant.  Right now I am leaning toward the European model and that would mean that this area could have snowfall of six inches or more.
