Have a very pleasant Tuesday!

After some record low temperatures this morning today will be less brutal than on Sunday! Heavy rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning that may start as snow or sleet Tuesday afternoon!

Record low temperatures this morning in the area with clear skies and light winds as most readings are in the teens.  Yesterday was a very unusually cold day for November with highs not getting out of the 20s, that was the first time since 1989 that this occurred in November and with winds gusting to 40mph made it feel even worse.

Today we will add a couple of degrees to yesterday’s high temperature but with much less wind it will feel much less uncomfortable.

Tuesday we will see an increase of clouds with light precipitation in the form of a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain may occur by noon, most likely inland. As the strong storm moves up the coast warmer air will move in changing all the precipitation to rain. Heavy rain will fall mainly from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with 2-3 inches expected.  Temperatures will rise into the 50s by Wednesday morning.

The rain will taper off Wednesday afternoon and may change briefly to snow inland before ending early Thanksgiving morning.

Thanksgiving day promises to be a cold windy day but not as bad as on Sunday with most highs in the upper 30s.

Dry weather and seasonably cool weather Friday into the weekend with a slight warming trend towards Sunday.

The forecast: Today – Increasing cloudiness, high in the mid 30s.

Wednesday – Rain, heavy at times tapering off by the afternoon, high in the mid 50s.

Thanksgiving Day – Clearing and windy, high in the mid-upper 30s.

Friday – Sunny, high in the upper 30s.

Saturday – Sunny, high near 40.

Sunday – Partly sunny, high in the mid-upper 40s.

Marine Forecast: Today – West-northwest winds this morning to 18 knots becoming westerly to 13 knots, seas 5 feet this morning, diminishing to 2 feet this afternoon

Outlook – Sub-advisory level conditions on Tuesday, but advisories likely Tuesday afternoon through Thanksgiving Day.

Have a nice day!

Extremely cold and windy Sunday! Storm to give area mainly rain Tuesday night into Wednesday!

Brrrr it is cold and windy outside as Arctic air arrived last night giving us even a brief dusting of snow. Temperatures this morning are ranging from near 20 degrees in the Clifton area to the teens further inland, wind gusting above 30MPH are dropping wind chills to the single digits…
Some sunshine today will not help much as highs struggle to get above the 30 degree mark and with winds gusting to 40mph will make it feel unusually cold for this time of year. A wind advisory is effect along with a red flag warning due to the possibilities of brush fires.
By early morning on Monday we may have record low temperatures in much of the area.
During the day on Monday temperatures will be well below normal but with less wind it won’t feel as harsh as today.
The well advertised storm for the middle of the week now appears just to be a soaking rain event with the only possibility of snow or ice falling will be very well inland of our area in the beginning and maybe the end of the storm.. The timing of the precipitation is from late Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon.
1-2 inches of well needed rain is likely. Still some questions on the track of the storm, the European model has it moving just to our west and if that is the case temperatures on Wednesday may rise into the 50s… The American model has the storm just offshore. Both models outcome would give us a well needed soaking of rain as this fall has been so dry.
The storm will move away Wednesday night and Thanksgiving day will be chilly and breezy but not as cold as today.
Seasonably cold and dry Friday into next weekend.

The forecast: Today – Mostly sunny, very windy and cold, high only around 30. wind gusts to 45mph.
Tonight – Mostly clear with diminishing winds, low in the upper teens.
Monday – Increasing clouds, high in the mid-upper 30s.
Tuesday – Cloudy with a chance of rain in the afternoon, high in the low to mid 40s. Rain likely at night.
Wednesday – Cloudy with rain likely in the morning with a chance of rain in the afternoon, high in the mid-upper 40s.
Thanksgiving Day – Mostly sunny and breezy, high in the upper 30s.
Friday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
Saturday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

Marine forecast: Gale warning issued till midnight tonight for northwest winds gusting to 45 knots, seas 3-6 feet.
Outlook – Sub-advisory level conditions on Monday into Tuesday but advisories likely Tuesday night through Thanksgiving Day.

Keep warm and go Giants!

Cool and dry Saturday; Frigid Sunday and early Monday; Storm likely on Wednesday!

A cold front came through around midnight last night on gusty northwest winds, temperatures that were near 50 at midnight have fallen to the 30s, skies are mostly clear.
Today we will have a mostly sunny day with near normal temperatures as highs will reach the upper 40s.
An arctic cold front will move through the area late tonight bringing even colder air into the area by Sunday morning.
Tomorrow will be a very cold and windy day and a couple of flurries cannot be ruled out, temperatures will have a hard time reaching the freezing mark and with wind gusts above 30MPH will make it feel even colder.
Some record breaking low temperatures for Monday morning as most of the region will be in the teens, it will remain cold during the day on Monday but with less wind it will feel less harsh.
During the day Tuesday it will be slightly milder with rain or snow developing by evening.
Still hard to get more detailed on the storm moving up the coast on Wednesday but at this time it appears that it will mostly be a rain event along the coast and snow and or rain inland.
The storm will be out of here by Thanksgiving Day leaving us with a cold and windy holiday.
Slight moderation in temperatures and dry for Black Friday.

The forecast: Today – Mostly sunny, high near 50.
Tonight – Partly cloudy, windy and colder, low in the mid 20s.
Sunday – Partly sunny, windy and very cold, high only in the low 30s.
Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
Tuesday – Cloudy with a chance of rain developing, high in the mid 40s. Snow or rain likely at night.
Wednesday – Cloudy with a chance of rain or snow, high in the low 40s.
Thanksgiving Day – Partly sunny, breezy and cold, high in the upper 30s.
Friday – Mostly sunny, high near 40.

Marine forecast: Gale warnings issued through Sunday night; Today – Northwest wind to 30 knots, seas 2-4 feet.
Outlook: Sub-advisory level conditions on Monday but advisories may be needed again on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Have a good day!

Mild and showery Friday; Very cold and windy Sunday; Storm potential growing for Wednesday!!

Early this morning we have showers in the area along with much milder temperatures with readings in the 40s.
The shower chances diminish during this afternoon and temperatures will be quite mild reaching the upper 50s. A cold front will cross the area around midnight accompanied by more showers.
Saturday will be a dry and cool day, another Arctic cold front will be crossing the area late at night.
Sunday promises to be a very cold and windy day with temperatures not rising much above freezing and with wind gusts above 30MPH will bring wind chills down into the teens.
Near record low temperatures on Monday morning but moderate a bit during the day with much less wind.
The potential for a storm is growing for late Tuesday night into Wednesday as the American model (GFS) has now joined the European model in bringing the coastal storm up into our area. Hard to pinpoint details at the present time but it appears now that we will have significant rains along the coast with rain changing to snow inland, again it is too early to tell possible accumulations but it is something definitely to be watched for the busiest travel day of the year.
The storm will be moving away on Thanksgiving Day leaving us with a cold and windy holiday.

The forecast: Today – Cloudy with showers likely mainly before 2pm, high in the upper 50s.
Tonight – Cloudy with a chance of showers around midnight then becoming partly cloudy, low around 40.
Saturday – Sunny, high in the upper 40s.
Sunday – Partly sunny, windy and cold with a slight chance of flurries, high in the low 30s.
Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
Tuesday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 40s, chance of rain or snow late at night.
Wednesday – Cloudy with a chance of rain or snow, high in the low 40s.
Thanksgiving Day – Mostly sunny, windy, high in the upper 30s.

Marine forecast: Today – Southwest wind becoming west to 14 knots, seas 3 feet.
Small craft advisory issued from 10PM tonight till 10AM ton Saturday.
Conditions lower below advisory levels Saturday afternoon but increase to gales later Saturday night into Sunday. Below advisory levels again on Monday into Tuesday but advisories may be needed once again with the coastal storm late Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Enjoy your Friday!

Dry and somewhat milder Thursday after a chilly start!

With clear skies and light winds temperatures have fallen to the upper 20s in the Clifton area to the upper teens in some of the colder spots to our north and west.
Today we will have partly sunny skies with temperatures a couple of degrees higher than yesterday.
Clouds will increase tonight and it won’t be as cold.
A little milder on Friday but there is a chance of rain in the morning and again later at night.
A cold front will be sweeping through the area on Saturday with showers ending in the morning.
Very cold air from Canada will be in our area on Sunday and Monday with Sunday being a very windy day with even some flurries in the area and temperatures barely reaching the freezing mark.
Monday morning we will have near record lows with temperatures falling to the teens in most areas.
A storm system is expected to develop down by the Gulf states on Tuesday and may affect our area on Wednesday, the latest American model has the precipitation offshore while the European model is indicating some heavy precipitation on Wednesday with rain along the coast and snow inland, still plenty of time to watch how this situation unfolds.
At this time Thanksgiving looks cold, breezy and dry.

Tonight – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after midnight, low around 40.
Friday – Cloudy with a chance of showers high in the mid 50s.

Have a good day!
