Rain heavy at times today! Return to mainly dry and seasonable warm weather tomorrow through the weekend!


It is raining in the area this morning and temperatures are ranging from the upper 60s in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, winds are light from the south.

An area of heavy rain will move into the area shortly this morning as a warm front moves through, some of this rainfall may cause some flash flooding, the rain will taper off to occasional showers later this morning.  A cold front will cross the area this evening with a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms, expect around an inch of well needed rain today with some higher amounts.

Improving weather on Wednesday with clearing skies and warm temperatures along with lower humidity.

Mainly dry weather the rest of the week into the weekend with the only chance of rain will be on Saturday afternoon and evening as a weak cold front moves through.  Temperatures will be near normal Wednesday and Thursday with low humidity gradually becoming above normal by Friday into the weekend with higher humidity.

A mainly dry Monday! Rain late tonight into Tuesday! Dry weather Wednesday through the weekend with a warming trend!


Skies are mostly clear early this Monday morning and temperatures are ranging from the mid 60s here in Clifton to the upper 50s inland, winds are nearly calm.

Today we should remain dry along with partly sunny skies, there will be an increase in clouds by late this afternoon, with the clouds and a southeast wind temperatures will be a couple of degrees cooler than on Sunday.

Showers and thunderstorms will move in mainly after midnight and continue into Tuesday evening, it will be more humid and rain may be heavy at times,  amounts will average between an inch and an inch and a half of much needed rainfall.

Dry weather should persist Wednesday through the weekend, humidity levels will start off low but gradually increase by the weekend along with warmer temperatures.

Skies are mostly clear early this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s in the cooler suburbs, winds are light.

Today will be another warm day with mostly sunny skies, humidity will remain low with dew points in the upper 50s.

Increasing clouds on Monday as a warm front approaches the area, the day should be dry but shower chances will increase by evening.

Tuesday will have rain with some thunderstorms, look for a good soaking of an inch or two of well needed rainfall.

A return to warm and comfortable dry weather Wednesday though the rest of the week, humidity may slowly rise by the weekend.

Looking further ahead it now appears that we will see more in the way of the typical August dog day weather with quite warm temperatures and high humidity most of next week.

Skies have become clear early this Friday morning and temperatures are ranging from the mid 60s in the Clifton area to some mid 50s further inland, humidity is low with dew points in the 50s and there is a light northerly wind.

Today will be a nice summer day with comfortably warm temperatures and low humidity along with plenty of sunshine as high pressure builds into the area from the north.

We will have another beautiful summer weekend with plenty of sunshine both days with continued seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

More humid on Monday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing by the afternoon.

It appears that Tuesday we will finally get some well needed rain as a cold front moves into the area and a low pressure forms along the front which will cause showers and thunderstorms with some heavy rain, it will also be humid.

A return to nice weather Wednesday through the end of the week with again seasonably warm temperatures and with low humidity.

Skies are mostly clear early this Thursday morning and it is a little cooler than the last few mornings with temperatures ranging from around 60 degrees in the Clifton area to near 50 in some of cooler inland suburbs, winds are light and the humidity is low.

Today will be a nice summer day with plenty of sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

The low pressure system that we have been following still looks like it will miss our area just to our south on Friday, we should see some more in the way of clouds but rain from the system at this time looks only to reach the southern part of New Jersey, temperatures will be slightly cooler and the humidity will continue to be low.

The nice summer weather should continue through the weekend with plenty of sunshine both days with low humidity and seasonably warm temperatures

Chance of showers will increase early next week along with somewhat more humid conditions, the best chance of rain will be Monday night into Tuesday.

Today will be a nice summer day with temperature a little lower than the last few days mainly reaching the upper 80s, there will be plenty of sunshine and low humidity as dew points should be in the comfortable 50s.

A little cooler but still quite nice weather on Thursday.

A major change in the forecast from yesterday as it looks like the low pressure system that was going to give us rain on Friday into Saturday will remain to our south so we can expect dry conditions through the weekend, temperatures will be pleasantly warm each day with continued low humidity.

We may have to wait to the middle of next week for any widespread rain and this far out that is still uncertain, so guess I will have to continue to water the grass and plants .

We have some light showers in the Clifton area early this morning and temperatures are in the upper 60s, winds are light, dew points are in the 60s.

After the showers move offshore we will have a mostly sunny day it will be hot again but humidity levels will slowly decrease by this afternoon.

Plenty of sunshine both Wednesday and Thursday with low humidity, it will still be quite warm on Wednesday but  a little cooler on Thursday.

It now appears that we will have widespread rain falling from late Thursday night into Saturday morning as a low pressure moves along a front to our south, temperatures on Friday will only be in the 70s.

Clearing by Saturday afternoon and it appears that Sunday will be a nice day, temperatures on the weekend will be a little below normal.

JULY 2015 CLIMATE SUMMARY:   July averaged about 2 degrees above normal, warmer than last July but not as warm as the very hot Julys we experienced from 2010-2013.  Precipitation in Clifton was below normal with only a little over 2 1/2 inches falling although some places in the area had more in localized thunderstorms.
