Heavy rain tonight into Monday morning!

Back from a nice weekend in the Poconos so for the first time since I started this website in January I missed a post yesterday

As I see on my new wonderful weather station we had showers and thunderstorms move through with the cold front after 11PM last night, winds switched to the north bringing down colder air… Today as the storm system from the south approached this area the rain began around 11:15AM, this rain will get heavier later in the day continuing overnight, precipitation amounts will be in the 2-3″ range..

Monday most of the steady rain will end by 9AM, still a chance of afternoon showers, chilly with highs only in the upper 50s..

The rest of the week will average cooler than normal with still a chance of showers especially Tuesday and Wednesday..

Another pleasant day but a strong storm is on the horizon!

The last day of the work week will be very pleasant, mostly sunny with high similar to yesterday’s around 70 degrees..

Saturday doesn’t look bad now either, there will be a chance of a daytime shower highs in the mid 70s. Most of the rain will hold off until night.

Sunday into Monday morning, most of the computer models are now having an impressive storm to move up the coast giving this area heavy rain and strong winds temperatures will cool off with most highs in the 50s..

Drying out on Tuesday with cool temperatures..

The rest of the week looks dry with seasonable temperatures, highs mostly in the 60s..

Marine forecast – light winds Friday picking up on Saturday, small craft advisories will be issued on Saturday and possible gales on Sunday into Monday…

Very Pleasant spring days today and Friday!

Well I was wrong as my wife Joan pointed out, it did rain yesterday with sprinkles and we had a shower around 1:30am that gave us a whole .05″. I thought the rain would stay south but it brushed our area, oh well can’t be right all the time..

Today the clouds and showers are moving away from us and it will be a mostly sunny day with a high near 70 degrees.

Friday another nice day to end the work week with a mostly sunny start with increasing clouds later in the day with highs in the low 70s..

Saturday the showers will move in but it looks like the morning will be dry with a high again near 70s..

Sunday showers continuing through the day, one of the computer models has the heaviest rain offshore, let see how that pans out., cooler with highs in the low 60s.

Monday cool with showers ending in the morning highs near 60s..

Warming trend towards the end of next week…

For the boaters out there the next two days will have light winds but the weekend into early next week winds and seas will increase and at least small craft advisories will be flying..

Dry end to the work week! Rain developing this weekend!

Today we will have more seasonable temperatures with partly cloudy skies and a high in the mid 60s, that will feel chilly after the warmth of the last few days.

Excellent weather for Thursday and Friday with mostly sunny conditions, highs on Thursday in the low 70s and then highs on Friday reaching the mid-upper 70s..

Now the weekend’s forecast – The only change is to delay the rain somewhat so we may be able to have a nice Saturday especially in the morning but chances of rain increase as the day goes on, it still will be mild on Saturday with a high near 70 degrees.

Sunday will be the wettest day, we do need the rain and we may get a couple of inches it will also be cooler with highs in the low 60s..

Monday and Tuesday the storm slowly moves away so there still will be a chance of showers especially on Monday, highs both days will only be around 60.

Looking ahead to the rest of next week looks like it will be warmer with highs back up into the 70s.

Warm but much less humid Tuesday!

Yesterday it felt more like August with a high temperature of 89 degrees with rather high humidity.  This morning a cold front is pushing through, with a warm start of the day and the strong sun temperatures will still reach to near 80 but the humidity will be much lower and it will be a nearly perfect weather day.   Only problem with today’s weather is the very high pollen level along with the threat of more brush fires..

Tonight will be cooler with lows in the low to mid 40s under mostly clear skies.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy with seasonable temperatures with a high in the low 60s..

Thursday after another cool morning it will be milder with a high near 70 degrees..

Friday will be another nice spring day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 70s.

Now the weekend, we do need the rain but does it have to come on the weekend, well the latest computer runs show that the showers may hold off until Saturday night so the day may be fine with a high near 70 degrees.  Good chance of showers from Saturday night into Monday with cooler temperatures..

Near record breaking heat today!

The average high for this time of year is around 60 degrees which was actually the overnight low! Temperatures are on the rise with a southwest flow, will be kind of humid with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees in some spots nearly 30 degrees above normal. The record high for April 16th in Newark is 92 degrees and we may come close…

Tuesday a cold front will come through in the morning, no rain with the front, with sunshine temperatures will be around 80 degrees but it will be much less humid on northwest winds.

It will become much more seasonable by Wednesday morning with lows back down into the 40s..

Wednesday should be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 60s..

Very pleasant Thursday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 70.

This pleasant weather will continue into Friday again with a high near 70, increasing clouds Friday night..

After a very dry week the chances of rain increase for this coming weekend. Saturday will have a chance of showers but even a better chance on Sunday as a low pressure will develop along the Southeast coast and move north into our area maybe giving us a soaking rainstorm. Highs on Saturday in the upper 60s cooling off on Sunday with highs in the low 60s..

I want to thank Jack one of my “former” co-workers for suggesting that my posts should be available on Facebook and with the help with my computer expert son Jared the posts will be also automatically be on my Facebook wall…

And happy birthday to my #1 daughter Jessica who is now as old as I feel..

A warmer and more humid Sunday!

Looks like we missed the much needed rain overnight as when the showers moved toward the area they dissipated so at best we ended up with maybe a sprinkle or two!
We do now have much higher humidity as the dew points moved from the very dry 20s to the muggier 50s, there will be clearing later today and along with the higher humidity temperatures will also be a few degrees higher approaching 80 degrees.

Monday will be the warmest day of the week with mostly sunny skies and high readings in the mid to upper 80s.

Tuesday will still be warm but a front will cross the area and it will be less humid by the afternoon..

Wednesday through Friday at this time look dry with highs mostly in the upper 60s.

Next weekend we may have the first significant rainfall in weeks as the last few computer model analysis show a storm that will move up from the southwest, as of right now Saturday looks the wettest day!

Warmer weather this weekend!

Temperatures will be on the rise this weekend, today we will have mostly sunny skies during the day with a high in the low 70s.

Clouds increase tonight with a 50% chance of showers as a warm front moves through, milder with lows in the 50s.

Sunday after early morning clouds and showers it will become partly sunny with highs approaching 80 degrees..

Monday will be the warmest day with mostly sunny conditions and a high at least in the mid 80s, some places may hit that 90 degree mark.

Tuesday a front will come through with a chance of showers, highs still in the upper 70s.

Wednesday through Friday will be more seasonable with highs in the upper 60s, the only chance of showers will be on Wednesday..

Not much rain the last several weeks, this upcoming week despite a chance of showers most of the rain will be light and widely scattered however looking at the long range computer models next weekend we may see some significant rain.

Weather is rather tranquil here compared to the middle of the country where there is a very high risk of large and life threatening tornadoes today.

Very pleasant Friday the 13th, warmup coming for the weekend!

After a cool start this morning the sun will warm temperatures up to the mid to upper 60s.

Saturday looks a bit milder with the high in the low 70s.. It will start out sunny but some increasing clouds by evening..

Saturday night into Sunday morning there is a good chance of showers and thundershowers as a warm front moves through.

On Sunday it will feel like summer, clearing with a high near 80 degrees.

Monday will even be warmer with a high in the mid 80s..

Tuesday still will be warm with a high in the upper 70s, a cold front will come through sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday with showers.

Wednesday through Friday temperatures will drop to more seasonable levels with highs mostly in the 60s…
